IT'S MY BLOGOVERSARY IN 10 DAYS!

Wow! I just couldn't believe it that in 10 days time I will be celebrating my blogoversary! Which also means that I will be turning 4 years in the blogland! Yay! Praise God for this wonderful blessing! Although I admit I have been so slack in postings the past couple of months due to being busy around the house (cause I still believe that family comes first!) :) I'm still thankful that YOU, my dear followers, never get tired of visiting my blog and following me and leaving me inspiring comments. Actually, even if I don't get comments on my cards or postings, I'm still happy because I was able to share things that I enjoyed creating --- my cards!

The mere fact that my counter gets a bigger number each time only means that someone's taking time to visit my blog either by chance or by searching for something via Google, it doesn't matter really. I'm happy to know that someone spends time looking at my cards or projects and find inspiration from them. Thanks very much!

To all my followers and visitors, thank you very, very much! And as my way of saying thank you, I will come up with a BLOGOVERSARY CANDY as a small treat! Stay tuned for it.

Thanks once again and may God bless us all!

Life Is.....

Happy New Year fellow stampers and bloggers! My post for today isn't stamping-related but it's about a short poem/composition that I've written awhile ago. Just thought I'd share it with my readers as the new year starts.

Life is indeed short, and without God it is like an unsharpened pencil, it has not point. (wonderful verse I've read somewhere)

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that with this poem, I was able to inspire or encourage you.

God bless us all!

YOU'RE IN MY PRAYERS

Happy Thursday everyone! Praise God for another lovely day that He has blessed us with.  We're having another lovely day here today - sunny but not warm. I was able to do 2 loads of laundry and planning to have another one in a little while. :)

I've made this card for the SSCC#77 Challenge and SC321 Sketch Challenge over SCS.  I started stamping the images last night, chose my dp to use and did the dry embossing on the top part of the card but just decided to put it all together the next day (which is today) after I'm done with my chores.

The SSCC#77 challenge calls for using "green" on your card or project.  The inspiration was taken from Exodus 8:9-11 wherein God sent a plague of frogs to Egypt so that the Pharaoh will let go of the people of Israel.  Peggysue Turner (DT member of Stampin' Sisters in Christ) made a wonderful sharing about this verse.

So, without any further chatthing, here's my take on the challenge:

My stamp image is basically one of my "first" stamps since I started with my cardmaking hobby.  It's also one of those so-neglected stamps that's just gathering dusts inside my cubby box. But it's inked today! And probably will be inking it more in the future. (I hope, lol!).  I used SU! Old Olive for my image and for the sentiment (Stampendous), I used Memento Rhubarb Stalk.  The white panel was embossed with Cuttlebug Stylized Flower and coloured with green decorative chalk. The images were cut with Nestabilities Square and matted onto a Rose Red cs cut with Cuttlebug Vintage corner die (another neglected stuff of mine).  I used another colour apart from white and green to give the card some pop. ;)

Thanks so much for looking and can you please keep the people of New Zealand in your prayers as they tragically experienced a 6.3 magnitude earthquake recently. There were many lives and homes lost and they're still trying to find survivors from this natural disaster.  Say a prayer for them during your quite time with the Lord, will you?

Thanks once again and I'll see you on my next post.

God bless.

I'M STILL HERE!!

Hello to my fellow bloggers, stampers and blog followers! How are you all doing? I'm just posting to let you know that I'm still here although not that much active with crafting lately. Talking about being slack! :( I dunno, maybe I was just having those days where one's mojo isn't really working or is wandering somewhere else.  Have you ever experienced that?? Tell me I'm not alone, pls?

Anyways, somehow I was able to make a single card (yes, just a single card in my 3wks or so of absence). This was for the FS181 in honour of ravengirl over SCS.  I chose to case her generational card and changed some of it while sticking to the lay out.

Once again I apologize for my absence.  I was about to make a card today but I caught a flu early in the morning so, yeah, I guess I'd better put it off after a day or two.

Thanks so much for the visit and I'll see you in my next post -- SOON!! :)

Have a blessed day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DARLING SON JHETRO!

And we just want to thank and praise God for a very blessed 6 years that He has given you.  Thank you for being so sweet to Mum, Dad and "Kaka" (Kuya Jared/brother).  Thank you because you have your way of teaching us how to be patient in the real sense of the word.  You and your brother are God's greatest blessings to me and your Daddy. Happy, happy 6th Birthday and I pray that God will bless you with more happy birthdays to come. We love you so much and God loves you much more than we do - always remember that.

Card With a Frame

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope all mothers were pampered and felt so loved yesterday as you celebrated Mother's Day. Truly indeed that being a mother isn't easy but it's a blessing to be one. :)

Today's card is actually an experiment for me.  My churchmate showed me a card with a frame (machine-made) that was sent to her by a friend.  It's so cool as her friend inserted their family picture inside the frame and sent it as Christmas card.  To make the story short, she asked me to make her something similar to it so she could give 'em away come Christmas this year. LOL!  Well, it was indeed a challenging task ;) and I somehow came up with this one:

The boy in the photo is my youngest, Jhetro.  He's an avid Thomas the Tank Engine fan so I used colours, dp and embellishments related to Thomas. Note: This is just a sample card to show and highlight the frame so I didn't decorate it that much.

The opening is on top of the frame and this is where you can insert your preferred photo.

Here's a closer shot:

The frame was made using Nestabilities Labels Eight, embossed with Fiskars texture plates and I did some scoring here and there.  I will still have yet to experiment more and will be posting a tutorial when it's done.

Thanks for looking and have a lovely day!

God bless us all.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS!

This lovely song entitled "Mother I Miss You" is lovingly dedicated to my Mama who passed away 10years ago. It's a decade I know but her memories will always be fresh and vibrant in my mind.  I always miss her and I miss her much more especially on Mother's Day.

So, to all those who still have their mothers on their side, appreciate and love them while they're still alive.  Pray for her often and hug her as much as humanly possible on a daily basis. Do NOT be cold and distant and feel like she owes you because she's your mother.  You might regret it if you lose her suddenly. Remember: Nobody will ever love you like her.

MAMA, this is for you. I love and miss you so much!

HAPPY SUNDAY!! ( and a SWEET STUFF from Jacque)

Hello everyone!! Happy New Year to all of you!! Wow! How are you all doing?? It's been almost 2mos since I last posted here. As you all know, we've been to a month-long holiday in the Philippines and we really had a great time!! I got to see all my siblings, my father, relatives and my closest friends. Thank God for that holiday!! We're now again actually planning for our next, lol!! God-willing, maybe after 2yrs. It depends on God's leading but I believe that when He wills it, it will be all perfect!! I will be posting some of my fave holiday pics here in my later posts.

Anyways, I haven't had the chance to sit on my craft table as I'm still trying to settle things around the house. Especially that my DS2 has started schooling now although his school sched isn't yet regular but once it is, I'm sure I can stamp and share my cards with you once again. Well, a friend of a churchmate is actually asking me to make their wedding invitations so I guess, if it will push through, those cards will be the first ones that I will be making this 2010. :)

Ohh, want some SWEET STUFF by the way??? The talented Jacque is offering some sweet stuffs for us bloggers. Click the link on my sidebar and it will take you directly to her sweet stuff post and for the conditions on how to join. ;-)

Offer ends on Feb22, so what are you waiting for??

Have a blessed Sunday and don't forget to go to church.

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you! My family and I are on a one-month holiday overseas that's why I just want to let you know that there'll be no new card uploads until we get back to Sydney. At the moment, I'm simply savouring my time bonding with my family and friends here in the Philippines as we haven't seen each other for 4 years. :)

I hope you understand and I hope you won't get tired of following my blog. Rest-assured that I will be stamping after our holiday. :)

Thanks so much for visiting and I'll give you updates once in a while.

God bless and Merry Christmas once again.

UPDATE (with a card)

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday to all of you! Wow! Time flies so fast that I've just noticed I haven't been posting for almost a week now. I'm so sorry for that, guys. It has been a busy week for all of us here at home and WILL still be very busy as we approach our long-awaited holiday overseas!

My kids (and I) are actually doing the countdown! LOL! And I never thought packing will be that hard. I have to make a checklist so as not to forget something not to mention the things that my siblings want me to bring back home. :) And that's the reason why I don't have the time to sit and stamp so I hope you understand. I will probably won't be sharing much of my craft work for a few weeks as I will be busy exchanging updates, chatting, strolling here and there with my family and friends during our holiday! Well I have to make the most out of it as I haven't seen them for 4 straight years! So, just imagine. ;)

Anyways, I was able to whip a card the other day and I just went simple as possible as I did this in-between the packing and house chores. :)

Look how simple it is! But I really like it. :) I just went all white with a touch of Purely Pomegranate. I embossed the horizontal panel with Cuttlebug Holly embossing folder and sprayed Glimmer Mist Pearl generously on it. Though you can't see it on this shot, IRL it's really glimmery. I stamped my sentiment directly to the card base with my ODBD Stamp Joy to the World set using Purely Pomegranate Ink. And YAY for me 'coz I already have the "new" Martha Stewart Floral Vine deep edge punch! Wohoo!! Would you believe I was able to purchase it here in Australia??? Yeah, I got it from LimeTart with the kind assistance of its owner, Philippa. Thanks so much Philippa!! I finished off the card with some Plum pearls (Kaisercraft) and Prima flowers that complement the card. I gave this card yesterday to my son's Speech Therapist as they will have a session break for the holiday and she so liked it!

So, what do you think??

This is all for now and thank you so much for visiting eventhough I don't post that much lately. Rest-assured that I will be popping in once in awhile to update you.

God bless everyone! Keep smiling! =)

Glory to God in the Highest!

Taken from Luke 2:14, this verse and the image stamped were both from Sweet 'N Sassy stamps. The verse is from their Christmas Scripture set and the image is from Jesus is Born set.

I actually experimented on this as I was thinking of other colours to go with silver. So I decided to use SU! Night of Navy which I think looked well with my Bazzill Bling in silver. The image was stamped with Versacolor Silver and heat embossed with clear ep while the sentiment was stamped with Night of Navy ink.

The image panel was cut using my Spellbinders Mega Curve Rectangles which I recently purchased from Bizzy Becs. Then while still inside the die, I then sponged some Bashful Blue ink and Night of Navy for more depth.

Here's a close-up shot:

Thanks so much for looking! Got this card done yesterday morning and this will go to my personal Christmas cards to be given to family and friends. I've been busy finishing Christmas cards orders and I haven't even filled up my personal stash yet!! So now, my aim is to slowly build up my Christmas cards...I'll get there by the grace of God. :)

My family and I weren't able to go to our Friday Bible study last night as I wasn't really feeling well. It's that time of the month and I was feeling so differently that I couldn't barely stand up because of the lower abdomen pain. I wasn't able to do anything from afternoon 'til night but lie down and praying that the pain would go away. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling a bit better..thank God!

This is all for now. I will be finishing card orders to be delivered tomorrow so I have to sit and stamp now otherwise I wouldn't get anything done. :)

God bless us all and happy Saturday!

Back on Track!

Happy Monday everyone! It's been awhile since I last uploaded a card here and now it's time for me to share those with you. But before I do so, let me just share with you what happened yesterday in our church. We had our Pastor Appreciation celebration and it's the first time that we did this in our church. I initiated this one upon researching that October is Ministry Appreciation Month. I actually learned about this last year but was a bit late to celebrate it so we did it this year. I was sooo happy because it's a success as we were able to surprise our Pastor. Everyone shared and thanked him for all he's done in the church and all eyes were full of tears! It was so touching and so memorable. I was asked to make a card for him and have all the members sign up but I forgot to take a photo of the card before I gave it to our Pastor. Argh!! I just used a full A4 Night of Navy card and folded it into half and printed the 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 verse which says: "And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love" (The Message).

On with my cards, here are a couple of what I've done lately:

This is for my friend who requested a Tilda card with a blue theme.

This one's requested to me by a friend to a friend. And she wanted the colours orange and blue.

Below are some Christmas cards that were ordered to me by friends. I still have heaps to make!

This is all for now. I know I mentioned about a 'candy" on my previous post but I'm afraid it will be a bit late. Sorry! Just have to gather all the supplies first before formally posting it to you. But I will definitely have one..soon!

Thanks for the visit and have a blessed day!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!

Hello everyone!! Yeah, it's my birthday today! :) I thank God for another birthday and I just really feel so blessed. Thank you to those who follow and visit my blog eventhough I'm not posting often lately. (but I sure am making cards!) Things just get busy around the house and as I have mentioned on my previous post, my craft space has been moved to another room so I still have some organising to be done. But I will be posting my cards soon so please do check back!

Tomorrow on the other hand is our Wedding Anniversary! How's that to be thankful for?! And because of those celebrations, I will be having a candy but I'm still putting the stuffs together. You'll be seeing it "hopefully" before the week ends and it's a simple blog candy to show my appreciation to my readers and followers.

Happy Birthday to me (LOL!) and to all those who are celebrating their birthdays with me today!

God bless us all!

I'm Still HERE! :)

Happy Sunday everyone! How are you? Sorry for not posting lately. Hubby is on a 3-wk holiday from work and we're doing a lot of Spring cleaning around the house. But that doesn't mean I'm not making cards, I had in fact, made 6 cards the past few days. It's just that I don't have time to take photos of them and post them here. One more thing, my craft area is being moved from the master's bedroom to my son's room! LOL!!! Yeah, I told hubby I really need a "space". So, please be patient with me 'coz soon as I'm done with all these things, you will see me posting every single day! :)

God bless everyone! Will be back with new cards and a "candy"!!!

ODBD for A Wedding Anniversary

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you're all doing very fine upon reading my post. This will just be a very quick one as I still have to prepare DS2 for his childcare.

I made this card last Friday for the 41st wedding anniversary of our church pastor and his wife. I used this never-been-inked Bible verse from ODBD Scripture Collection 1 which I believe would fit any occasion. :) I stamped it with Versafine (Crimson Red), heat-embossed with clear ep and used chalk around the verse for some added effect.

Gorgeous papers? Yeah, they're from K&Company Charlotte paper pad collection. Bought this from Windsor Cottage Botanicals on special (and they're still on special up to 30th Sept). You still have a day to avail of its 25% off on their gorgeous papers so visit the shop now and grab yourself some stuffs!

Have to go now. But before I go, can I please ask you to include prayers for the people in the Philippines who got affected with the recent typhoon Ondoy? I originally came from Philippines and my heart breaks everytime I see my fellow Filos submerged in deep flood waters and most of them lost their homes and some of their loved ones. :( Manila is the capital of the Philippines and right now, most of its parts are flooded and devastated by the recent typhoon. So please, include them in your quiet time with our Lord. TIA.

Thanks for the visit. Will be posting more later!

DUST STORM

Hello everyone! Yesterday was an awful day for most of us here in Australia. Sydney (where I am) experienced Dust Storm and other states experienced other natural calamities. Hubby went to work at 5am and in just a little while sent me an SMS and told me not to do the laundry as there's a dust storm approaching. And yeah, at around 5:15am as I looked out from our window, I saw a very red sky and the scene was so eerie. I woke up my eldest son and showed him what I've seen and he too was shocked. It was very windy and so I went out of our room and shut all the windows just so the dust won't come in though it's a bit late. I managed to took photos from our window and here they are:

That's what we had yesterday. DS1 and I prayed in the middle of the Dust Storm because in natural calamities such as this, there's nothing you can do but pray because God is always in control of everything. After praying, I called some of our family friends to check out how they're doing or if they were, at that time, aware of what's happening outside.

The sky turned clear and blue around 2pm though it's too dusty around here. :) I already did some vacuuming and cleaning and I think will be doing it until weekend. My cough got worse and I sometimes feel suffocated because of the dust but I thank God really for taking control of everything.

I will be sharing with you a card which I made a few days ago. It's Vintage Birthday (just so you have a hint, LOL!) and I used my new K&Company Charlotte paper pad (so yummy!).

Be back later. Thanks for the visit! Have a blessed day.
