YOU ARE THE POTTER

Hello everyone! This is sort of a rush as I want to have this entered on ODBDSLC47.  This is my 2nd entry so I hope it gets in on time.
** I'm back! Whew! I just made sure that the linky is still open before I give you more deets about this card. LOL!  I found out that there are still 25minutes left before the link closes so, yeah, I was able to make it. Yay! Happy me! :D

I used the "You Are The Potter" set for this one. Funny because, I was thinking awhile ago how many ODBD stamp sets I already own when I suddenly remembered that I already have the "You Are The Potter" set and I haven't been using it for months now! And since I was browsing on SCS (sketch challenge) SC319 this week, I decided to play along and have the card as my 2nd entry for the ODBDSLC47 Challenge Anniversary.  I chose the ODBDSLC22 Distress It challenge, hence the distressed look on my card. :)

I took photos of the card on two different angles:

I was about to adhere the pot using my glue but then decided to use pop dots instead for added dimension. This card took me less than 20mins to make as I was really, really rushing! Thanks for the sketch challenge, it made my work easier!! :) I coloured the pot using Copic markers and the SU! Bravo Burgundy marker (for the top part). I used Heidi Swapp distressing tool and Tim Holtz Antique Linen to distress the edges of my card and the sentiment panel. The paper is from K&Company Charlotte paper pad.

Thanks so much for looking and for your never-ending visits and support.

Have a blessed Friday!

ODBDSLC47 - Challenge Anniversary

Happy Thursday everyone! We're having a lovely weather here in Sydney today. A bit gloomy though but the temperature is just right. Not too hot, not too cold! :)

My card for today is my entry for ODBDSLC47 - choose your own challenge (Challenge Anniversary)
I used the ff: challenges for my card:

ODBDSLC22 - Distress It (I distressed the edges of my card with distress tool and distress ink)
ODBDSLC26 - Dies and Punches (Labels Sixteen for my main panel and MS Botanical Scallop border punch)
ODBDSLC27 - Texture It (After stamping the verse, cutting and sponging, I used Cuttlebug Stylized Flower to emboss the panel)
ODBDSLC28 - Forgotten Embellishments (In my case, I used my so-neglected dew drop for the flower center)
ODBDSLC43 - Something New, Something Old (my Nestabilities Labels Sixteen is one of my recent purchases and was used here for the first time, and my Urban Prairie dp as my something old)

And here's my card:

This bible verse from 2 Timothy is one of my "assurance/reminder verses" and I always read this to myself whenever fear visits me. I really thank God for ODBD stamps as we can share His word through stamping and cardmaking. I just pray that ODBD will come up with more scripture verses in the future. It's one way to spread the Word.  This particular stamp is from ODBD Scripture Collection 2.

Thanks for the visit. Until next post!

To God be the glory!

TRUST IN THE LORD

Happy February everyone!! Hope you're all doing well by the grace of our loving Lord Jesus Christ. This is my very first blog entry for this month and my very first card for this month as well.

The card that I made is for the following challenges:
ODBDSLC46 "The Blues" - using the colour blue on your card/project
and
SSCC74 - to use the colours blue (to represent water) and green (for the pasture). The challenge was inspired by the Bible verse taken from Psalm 23.

Here's my take:

The scripture that I used is from ODBD Scripture Collection 1. This is one of my favourite verses and one of my memory verses that I always use in times of worry or uncertainty. TRUST in the LORD..... in this changing world that we live, only One is certain not to change and that is God.  He is immovable and forever faithful and we can always count on Him in times of need. Praise His name forever!

I stamped my verse with Memento Tuxedo Black and cut it using Labels Seventeen (a recent purchase). While still inside the die, I sponged around with Versamagic Sea Breeze and sponged the outer edge with Tim Holtz Broken China for some depth.  The middle section was sponged with Memento New Sprout and SU! Old Olive. Finished it off with a sky blue flower from Kaisercraft. I also sponged the edges of the flowers with the same ink that I used for the main panel (for the big flower) and Old Olive for the small flower. The blue pearl is from K&Company. I didn't have any sponging pattern with the main panel that's why you'll notice that other parts were sponged heavier than the others but I like how it came out. :) I hope this card will qualify for the ODBD "The Blues" challenge eventhough my background dp is more on green but I believe I used more blues than the greens here. LOL!

This verse also goes out along with my prayers to the people in Queensland (one of Australia's states) who are currently experiencing a cyclone. Just recently many families and homes were devastated by a flood and now a cyclone is currently hitting the state again. I firmly believe in the power of prayer and since we can't physically go there, we can only offer prayers for them and believe by faith that eventhough calamities happen in our lives, God is in control.

Have a blessed Thursday!

ODBDSLC44 [WING IT], SSCC#72 [SOMETHING NEW]

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!  I want to apologize once again for not posting the past few weeks. It's school holiday for the kids that's why I'm taking the opportunity to bond with them.

Anyway, this card is for the ff challenges:

ODBDSLC44 - image, embellishment or dp must contain anything with wings and
SSCC#72 - anything new (in my case, my dp is one of my new supplies)

The bible verse was stamped with Choc Chip (loaded with Versamark) and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut it using Oval Nesties, and while still in the die, I then sponged around it using So Saffron and Choc Chip. The verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 1 and the silhouette butterfly is a stamp from Darkroom Door. I used the SU! marker (Rose Red) to directly colour the rubber stamp, huffed on it then stamp it directly to the dp (which is my something "new").  I also stamped another butterfly image to the same dp then handcut it and adhered just the middle part so the wings can move for added effect. :) I distressed the edges of the dp with Tim Holtz's Antique Linen distress ink. I also embellished one of the butterflies with 2 smallest pearls.

Thanks so much for the visit and I'll see you again on my next post.

Have a blessed day! Be safe.

More Christmas Baubles

Happy Tuesday blogland!! So happy to be sharing with you the cards that I made few weeks ago wherein I used Christmas Baubles image from my so-neglected Kaisercraft Christmas Doodles stamp set.  I was wishing for an SU! Tree Trimmings set but since I don't have it then, I remember that I have these clear stamps bauble images that has been sitting on my stamps cabinet and just gathering dust. I gotta be creative so shile waiting for the Tree Trimmings, I made couple of cards using these images:

I just used a ruler and my Copic pen to make the "string" for the baubles. I coloured the images using Copic markers and I embossed the panels using Cuttlebug embossing folder (in this case, the Divine Swirls). The sentiments are from Justrite Stampers Nested Christmas Verses which I bought from ebay. These are basically clean and simple but "glittery" as I used my MS Crystal Fine Glitter to give my baubles the "it" look. ;-)

Thanks for looking and I'll see you next post.

Have a blessed day!

ODBDSLC41 TAKE TWO! (Another Christmas Church)

Good afternoon! Here I am once again with another card for ODBDSLC41 Inspiration challenge! As I've said, I used the same image that I used on my previous post.  But this time, I stamped it on the main panel and worked my way from there.  I don't normally do it but since I want my image and my sentiment to be on just one panel, I tried and I'm glad it somehow worked! Thanks to Stamp A-Majig!!

The image was coloured with Copics and I sponged around it using So Saffron ink. I then stamp my sentiment from Justrite Stampers Christmas Nested Verses where I want it positioned using Stamp A-Majig. I then embossed the whole panel using Cuttlebug Swiss Dots to mimic falling snow (which I learned from Ms Amy Scheffer from one of her cards last year).  I then used liquid applique to put some "snow" on the trees and on the church.  The wreath on the church door was embellished with Flower Soft Christmas Green.  So lovely IRL! My inspiration was once again taken from this photo that they provided:

Thanks once again for looking and for the visit.

God bless us all!
