Feather Blending Challenge over Mad for Markers

And this is my first on this challenge! LOL! Well, I've practiced and wasted a few stamped images before I got satisfied with the outcome.  Hmm, I don't know if I did it right, LOL! but hopefully, one day I'll get there. This Tilda was a RAK stamped image from my friend Jackie. (waving at you, Jack!)  I've coloured her with the ff Copic markers:

skin- E00, E02, E11

hair- E25, E29

clothes/wings (for the blending) - R00, R02, B00 B02

I haven't been colouring any Tilda lately that's why I once again felt like a first-timer with Copics while I'm colouring her. The wings (and petticoat) were embellished with Martha Stewart Crystal Fine glitter and finished off the card with this Aqua satin ribbon made with Bow Easy and 3 small Kaiser pearls.

Tilda's white background was sponged a bit with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink and embossed with Fiskars Hearts Texture plates. The dp is from DCWV floral stack.

Feather Blending Challenge over Mad for Markers

Shabby Chic Lovely As A Tree

YES!!! I finally got hold of this lovely stamp set from Stampin' Up! - LOVELY AS A TREE. Wohooo!!!  I've been longing to have this stamp set for over a year now and much as I wanted to buy one for myself, I just couldn't convince myself to purchase as it's quite exxy for me. ;)  But God is really good, He made a way for me to be able to have it when someone I know made a craft clean-up sale and this set is included! I know and believe that this wasn't a chance or luck but God really made it happen.

And since I still have the "sahbby chic" hang-over from the last card that I made (CAS37 challenge), I then once again made another card with the same theme.  I did a lot of distressing here and limited my embellishment to just a vintage-looking ribbon which I think  I got from Bizzy Becs long ago.  The image was stamped with Versamagic Dew Drop "Wheat" and the lovely dsp is from K&Company Charlotte 12x12 pad.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DARLING SON JHETRO!

And we just want to thank and praise God for a very blessed 6 years that He has given you.  Thank you for being so sweet to Mum, Dad and "Kaka" (Kuya Jared/brother).  Thank you because you have your way of teaching us how to be patient in the real sense of the word.  You and your brother are God's greatest blessings to me and your Daddy. Happy, happy 6th Birthday and I pray that God will bless you with more happy birthdays to come. We love you so much and God loves you much more than we do - always remember that.

CASEd, Distressed, Shabby Chic with Spotlight Technique

Wohoo!!! Happy Monday everyone! (doing a happy dance here)  You may ask why? Well, I may not be able to make a card for a week now BUT today I was able to make ONE card for FOUR challenges!! Yay!

The first three challenges were from last week which I wanted to play but missed and the CAS is for today, My image (from Jemac Stamps) was coloured with Copic markers (R85, R83, R81). Well, had a bit of mistake as I cut the image first before I coloured it so it's kinda hard to move around and colour as the paper is already too small to control. LOL! But I'm glad I was able to pull through. I distressed the edges of the dp from Basic Grey (sorry I forgot the range), the green cs that was cut with Labels Four and the embossed white cs and I used my first-ever Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Yay!! I know, I'm so well behind with this ink as almost all cardmakers are using distress inks nowadays. Btw, my sentiment is from Stampendous Happy Messages.

Card With a Frame

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope all mothers were pampered and felt so loved yesterday as you celebrated Mother's Day. Truly indeed that being a mother isn't easy but it's a blessing to be one. :)

Today's card is actually an experiment for me.  My churchmate showed me a card with a frame (machine-made) that was sent to her by a friend.  It's so cool as her friend inserted their family picture inside the frame and sent it as Christmas card.  To make the story short, she asked me to make her something similar to it so she could give 'em away come Christmas this year. LOL!  Well, it was indeed a challenging task ;) and I somehow came up with this one:

The boy in the photo is my youngest, Jhetro.  He's an avid Thomas the Tank Engine fan so I used colours, dp and embellishments related to Thomas. Note: This is just a sample card to show and highlight the frame so I didn't decorate it that much.

The opening is on top of the frame and this is where you can insert your preferred photo.

The frame was made using Nestabilities Labels Eight, embossed with Fiskars texture plates and I did some scoring here and there.  I will still have yet to experiment more and will be posting a tutorial when it's done.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS!

This lovely song entitled "Mother I Miss You" is lovingly dedicated to my Mama who passed away 10years ago. It's a decade I know but her memories will always be fresh and vibrant in my mind.  I always miss her and I miss her much more especially on Mother's Day.

So, to all those who still have their mothers on their side, appreciate and love them while they're still alive.  Pray for her often and hug her as much as humanly possible on a daily basis. Do NOT be cold and distant and feel like she owes you because she's your mother.  You might regret it if you lose her suddenly. Remember: Nobody will ever love you like her.

MAMA, this is for you. I love and miss you so much!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

TILDA WITH PUPPY

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you're all feeling good upon reading this post.  I created this card last night but was too sleepy to post so I'm sharing this with you today instead.

This lovely Tilda With Puppy image was given to me by one of my online friends.  Sorry, just couldn't recall the name but will put it here as I check on my received RAKS. I coloured Tilda with Copics and did some tip to tip technique for the shading.  I also used Prismacolor pencils for shading as well.  I like how the tip to tip technique turned out with Tilda's boots/shoes...looks suede even IRL! ;)  Might do this technique again next time.  I actually coloured this image a month ago now but it's only now that I was able to use her on a card when I saw these lovely dps from my stash.

I finished off my card with some chocolate Kaiser pearls here and there, a ribbon, button and layered flowers.  The sentiment is from Jemac Stamps (clear).  Tilda's white background was embossed with Perfectly Paisley embossing folder (which I haven't been using for quite sometime now) and I did some chalking to highlight the embossed parts.
