Got 2 Cards for LSC205!

Good Morning from Sydney, Australia! Hope everything's doing very well wherever you are in the globe. It's Saturday and I know I have lots of things to do but before doing so, let me share with you first the cards that I made for Limited Supply Challenge (LSC205) over SCS.

The challenge is to make "clean and simple" card. Meaning, minimising the use of embellishments, layering, matting, hand-cutting, glittering, etc. And this is what I came up with..

Isn't this little monkey gorgeous to look at? :) This is from the set of Changito Dos by Stampendous. One of the first few sets that I bought when I started stamping and if I'm not mistaken, I bought this from ebay along with 4 other sets all from Stampendous. As you can see I made a little sky scene here...my first with the "sun" lol! At least I was able to use my SU! Summer Sun ink pad for the first time. Does it look okay or what?

And since simple cards are easier to make, I decided to make another one...

This time I used die cuts from my Cuttlebug Vintage corner dies and my Daisy Heads Shapeabilities. This card is DL-sized so I have to make an envelope for it. My image is from Autumn Leaves (clear single stamp) designed by Rhonna Farrer. I coloured it with my Prismas (and so was the first card I've shown) and my sentiment is from Stampendous - Encouraging Words.

Okay, this is it for now. All I can say is it's really nice to make such simple cards as this, so nice to remind us & take us back where we've started as stampers. ;) Clean and Simple.

God bless everyone!

Three Challenges in One Card

Wohoo!! I've just finished my card and guess what? It qualified to 3 challenges over SCS!! The challenges are: SC213(sketch challenge) , BVC09 (Bible Verse Challenge) and WT156 (Ways to Use It - using computer to make your sentiments, embellishments, etc.) and I'm so glad I was able to hit 3 birds with just one stone, lol!

Here's my take on these 3 challenges:

I started with SU! Basic Black as my background, then layered Very Vanilla which was Cuttlebugged using Floral Screen embossing folder. A Basic Grey dp was matted on Basic Black, the middle horizontal panel was also embossed in Floral Screen and matted also in Basic Black and printed my sentiment on Very Vanilla which was also matted on Basic Black. There was no stamping done here but I guess the card somehow turned well. I finished it off by using my Spellbinders' Daisy Heads Shapeabilities Collection to make the flower with a hint of Certainly Celery on the very base of it. :)

Hope you will somehow get inspiration from this. Thanks for visiting my blog and see you on my next post.

God bless you!

Shopping List a la InStyle Stamps!

I've been meaning to post this simple project of mine for quite sometime but things sometime just got in the way that kept me from posting it here. Anyways, I'm proud to show you my Shopping List a la Instyle Stamps!!!!

I don't know about you but I'm the type of person who likes jotting down things (especially the things that need to be bought) and so, since it's New Year, I decided to make myself a shopping list/notebook. And who's more fitting than InStyle Stamps' SuzieQ!!!

This mini-notebook is a Spirax brand which I bought from Big W. I actually bought it for this particular project. I covered my notebook using Heidi Grace paper collection (from Big W as well), measured and cut complementing cardstocks for matting and coloured my image using Prismas and odourless solvent. I so, so like this odourless solvent technique (same as Gamsol technique). It really gives life to the image especially if you want it to look subtle. :) My sentiment was computer-generated and printed onto SU! Pink Passion and die cut using my standard scalloped rectangle nestabilities which arrived yesterday from BizzyBecs. Yay! My Nesties collection is growing!! :)

Okay, off to run an errand. Will post more later with another project and probably a card as well. Tomorrow my DS1 Jared will be back in school and DS2's in childcare as well so my "ME" days will be back! I'll miss my boys eventhough during their school holidays all they did was complain and make requests! lol! It's quite hard when you're already used to their "noise".

Children are a gift from God...and we have to cherish every moment we spend with them. :) That's why I always make it a point to pray for them everyday and I also pray that God will guide me and my husband to bring up these kids the way He wants it to be.

Enjoy the rest of the day! God bless!

Another FIRST for ME! {TLC205 and FIRST TILDA STAMP), CC203 Card

Hello everybody! I'm so excited to share with you my first TLC (Try a New Technique) challenge card using my FIRST Magnolia Tilda stamp!! Yes! The previous Tilda images I used from my past cards were all given as RAK (from my buddy Sammi) but this time, I stamped it myself for I already have the giggling Tilda. :) I bought this Tilda from BizzyBecs along with some yummy stuffs which I posted a couple of days ago.

Okay, for the TLC205 challenge, we need to have pleated papers on our card. Since I have Tilda sitting on a couch (this couch was just printed over Basic Grey paper), I decided to make a curtain using pleated vellum. Here's the card:

Isn't Tilda cute when she's giggling? :) This also qualifies for the CC203 challenge (to use Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Garden Green cs) Since we don't have Pacific Point and Baja Breeze, I asked from SCS forum the closest colours to these. Sumtoy gave me a tip to use Ballet Blue in place of Pacific Point and Soft Sky in place of Baja Breeze. {Thanks Sumtoy!} You may be wondering where's the Garden Green on my card -- it's in Tilda's sleepwear...the dots on it. Can you see it? lol! I coloured it using Prismacolor pencil equivalent to SU! Garden Green. The whole image btw was coloured with Prismas using odourless solvent and blending stumps.
I slept at 2am just to finish this little scene and uploaded it on my SCS gallery. What do you think of Tilda? and my curtains? ;)
Chat with you soon!
Have a blessed day wherever you are!
{Australian Open update: Federer won over del Potro of Argentina! He's on to the semis!}

My First Inspiration Challenge - IC164

Hello everyone! here's my first Inspiration Challenge over SCS. It's IC164 where you'll get your inspiration from the Lang Calendars. There were a lot to choose from but this one (Vintage Garden) caught my eyes. This is where I got my inspiration for my card below:

This panoramic-sized stamp has been with me for more than 2 or 3 months now. I bought it from Big W and its brand is My Inspiration (Wildlife Collection). This is quite huge as you can see it almost ate up the whole card, lol! I bought another 2 along with this so you can image that I still got 2 big stamps to ink up. :)
Anyways, hope you were also inspired by my card. I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils using odourless solvent, blending here and there to achieve the look that I want. This is also the first time I used my Fiskars "a dozen roses" border embunch and the Cuttlebug floral corners embossing folder for the Pomegranate cs.
Thanks for looking and I'll see you later with another card.
(Australian Open update: Federer will be playing so I might post very late...lol!)
God bless!

Shapeabilities for SC212 Sketch Challenge

Yay!!! I've done this card without using Prismacolor pencils this time. lol! The only stamping I did was on the sentiment, apart from that it's all using my favourite Cuttlebug machine.
I really liked how this card turned out. This colour combo has been playing on my mind since yesterday morning and so I let go of those colours in this particular card using SC212 sketch challenge. Have a lookey...

I used my Daisy Heads (from Spellbinders' Shapeabilities Collection) to create the flower and it really looked gorgeous IRL! I even used the leaf/leaves die to stamp my sentiment on for a different effect. How clever is that? lol! Here's a closer shot...

I used pop dots to give dimension to the flower. Here's a much closer look at it..

The narrow pannel was embossed using Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder which complemented the Basic Grey dp that I used. ;)

So, what do you think of my card? :)
