Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello blog readers and fellow bloggers! Happy Saturday!! Hope everything's doing well with you and the rest of your families. We're all doing fine also by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I've been busy doing the laundry since this morning but I was able to make a card for our Pastor and his wife for their 40th wedding anniversary. Wow! 40yrs! They're so blessed!

I was forced to finish this card as they will be leaving for New Zealand as their 2 children's gift for them and they will be away for more than 2 wks. I'll still be making a gift for them and I'm still thinking what to make. ;-) Here's the card:

This is just a very simple card as you can see. Ruby red is associated with 40th wedding anniversary (as per my research) and since I don't have a ruby red, I chose something closer to that colour. Actually I have a ruby red from SU! earth colour family but the red is a bit pale. So, I used this Kisses red by Bazzill and embossed my Whisper White using my Cuttlebug Textile folder. I stamped the sentiment first before running it to my Cuttlebug and used my Olivia Alphas to die cut the numbers. Of course, I also used my Nestabilities (Petite Scallop circle) and put an organza ribbon on top of the red grosgrain so that the red ribbon will not look that bright.

Wish I could tell you more about what happened to me today but I still need to do some things. And besides, the ladies from our church decided to have dinner tonight so I will be out dining with the girls. Hubby will be the one to look after the kids (he's so sweet really)...after all, this is the very first time that I will go out since I got here in Australia almost 3 yrs ago. Can you believe that? ;-) I don't know, maybe it's just really normal that when you already have your own family and kids, you choose to go out with them rather than with anyone else. Maybe I just say this 'coz my closest friends are all in the Philippines. (ohh, I really miss them "sigh")

Will keep you posted when I come back. God bless us all!

My "ME" Days

Thursdays and Fridays are my "me" days. DS1 is in school and DS2 is in the childcare (and hubby's at work). So, yesterday I went to the nearest shopping centre which is just a walking distance from our place. In the morning while I was busy tidying up things, I saw the this magazine that has the DCWV ads and saw some brand new stocks of stacks! I hurriedly finished the things that need to be done then I headed to the shopping centre. And the rest is history....lol!

I was so overwhelmed upon seeing their shelves full of new DCWV stacks! I found Nana's Nursery stack (boy & girl), Blossoms and Butterflies, Jewel Cardstock, their Matchmakers and alot more! I tell you, DCWV's are very rare here in Australia and a stack costs AU$19.93 (to those who have Michaels, HL and Joann's -- you're very lucky!!) So, I grabbed myself these things for the meantime :-)

I know I will be using this cardstock stack so I got one and oh, this adhesive mat stack!! They're very nice! I tried using my Olivia Alphas with them and wow!!! They're like sticker paper only with cardstock feature. I will be buying more of it soon. I put some of their 12x12 stacks on lay-by (just to make sure 'coz they sell like hotcakes!) lol!

And this mesh hobby basket!!! I bought this so that I could put some of my stuffs especially when I'm doing a card or project and have to stop and finish it at a later time. There's my paper trimmer, Cuttlebug plates and some folders, bits & pieces of this and that. So handy!! Can you see the blue thing that looks like a big notebook? It's a display or presentation book. It has 30 clear plastics pages (non-refillable) and that's where I put my SU! cardstocks so I can easily flip through and see what I have. At the moment I only have 3pcs of each colour family set. Bazzill cardstocks have a different storage. I bought this clear display notebook a month ago and it's on clearance for AU$2. ;-)

And you know how much I bought this basket??? Originally it's AU$5 as it's written on the shelf but I asked a salesperson just to make sure 'coz it doesn't have any bar code at all. The lady salesperson then asked the supervisor and came back to tell me that they're giving it for an off-range price amounting to .....AU$2!!! What a bargain!!!!

And since I'm in the mood organising things, (remember this is ME day so I have so much time to do what I want to do), I also made a storage for my Nestabilities.

These are the set of Nesties that I have for now. You've probably seen this type of storage many times but I gave it a try and joined the bandwagon. So far, it's working. ;-)

This is all for now and let me know what you think of these things that I shared with you. I guess I'll have a regular "ME" days category on my blog so I can share with you what I've done or been doing during these times. :-) That would be fun.

Off to prepare for our Bible study tonight!

See you later! ;-)

and now comes the Pink and Brown CHRISTMAS

Yeah! I went out of my comfort zone and broke through the traditional colours of Christmas. I coloured these lovely House Mouse image with pink and browns and complemented them with my DP fr K & Co. Cardstocks were SU! Close to Cocoa and Whisper White, pinks were fr Bazzill.

This is also the first time I used my Cuttlebug slider which has been with me for a couple of months now. Instead of putting a sentiment on the slider, I stamped another image of the mouse and colour-complemented it with the main image. And look at my grosgrain ribbon? Yipee! They all coordinated with each other!!

I used my Copic, Sugarloaf markers and watercolour pencils to colour them. I also put some stickles onto the mouse on the slider.

So, what do you think?

Good night! God bless us all!

Changito Birthday Card

Hi everyone! We have a very lovely day here in Australia. Spring is really in the air, the wind is blowing hard and the sun is up and it feels like.....yeah, Spring. ;-)

I whipped up a card a few minutes ago for my nephew who will be celebrating his birthday on the 18th and will post it tom AM (and this card will surely get there late). This is the 2nd time I used my Changito the monkey stamps by Stampendous.

I only used my watercolour pencils, no blender pen whatsoever. Just pure watercolour. And I used the pencil directly onto the paper as I just want to keep it fairly simple. :-)

The next card (which I already handed to my friend yesterday) is also a mini-card, like the one with the apple at the center. I coloured it with my Copic Markers and used my Copic Spica on the edges of the hearts to make it look a bit sparkly.

These are the stuffs that I used:

-For the Changito birthday card-

Stamps: Changito the Monkey by Stampendous, Happy Birthday sentiment by Fiskars, SU! Brilliant Blue, Whisper White, Creamy Caramel, DP by Chatterbox, Versafine Ink, Watercolour pencils, decorative brown ribbon

-For the 2nd card-

Stamps: Clearly Christian tags by CD stamps, Copic Marker, Copic Spica (clear), SU! Whisper White, Old Olive, Lovely Lilac, grosgrain ribbon, Nestabilities classic square, Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder, ticket corner/concave punch by EK Success, Versafine Ink

And what else is new with me??? Oh, my profile photo! LOL! Took that myself last night and did some cropping. How do you like it? ;-) Hmm...anyone of you guys who knows how to put smileys on blog posts???

Blessings to all!
