CAS63 Cosmos Flowers

Happy Monday! I haven't posted anything the past few days as I was a bit unwell due to cough and colds. Tomorrow my kids are going back to school after their almost 3wks Autumn break. So that means, more stamping time for me. LOL!

Here's a Clean and Simple card that I made for the CAS63 challenge this week over SCS.  It's based on a card by Alanna. I used papers from my scraps and the only stamping done here is the sentiment. :)  The flowers were punched using my Martha Stewart Cosmos punch adorned with dew drops.

Thanks for looking! God bless you all!

SIMPLE HELLO

Hello everyone! I coloured in again one of the Gorjuss Girls image that I received as a RAK and made a simple hello card for a friend. The image was coloured with Copics and fortunately, I still was able to use my E00! :) The background was embossed with Fiskars texture plates and I did some faux stitching on the left and right side. I also punched the blue cs mat with Fiskars Threading Water punch and the flowers were embellished with Star Dust Stickles that I recently bought from our LSS. The sentiment is a dollar stamp I got from a Craft Show.

Thanks for looking as always! God bless us all.

BUTTERFLIES

3 is an ODD number, right? =)
Here's my simple card for this weeks Ways to Use It Challenge set by Julia and the theme is "Odds Are". There has to be something odd in your card; ODD as in not divisible by two not the ODD that is strange or peculiar in meaning, LOL!
In this card I have 3 butterflies, 3 Kaiser pearls (Rose) and 1 butterfly that is fully made up(it's the one in the middle, unfortunately you cannot see its colours clearly in this photo)! Just made it very simple and use some scraps lying around my craft table.
Thanks for looking and TGIF!! =)
Hugs,
Jhet

Just Because (2nd post)

Hello fellow bloggers! Well, as I've said, I'm starting to make cards smaller than what I normally make. Not that I will refrain from making my 5.5's square cards, just trying these for a change and also to use scraps that I used from previous cards.

Here's a Just Because card to add on my stash:

It's Spring here but I really like the colours of Fall. :) I haven't been using my Shapeabilities Daisy Heads die so I used it here as I think it looks nice on rust and vanilla.

So simple but I like it! Btw, this is my 2nd post for today so kindly scroll down to see my earlier post.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you on my next post again.

Back on Track!

Happy Monday everyone! It's been awhile since I last uploaded a card here and now it's time for me to share those with you. But before I do so, let me just share with you what happened yesterday in our church. We had our Pastor Appreciation celebration and it's the first time that we did this in our church. I initiated this one upon researching that October is Ministry Appreciation Month. I actually learned about this last year but was a bit late to celebrate it so we did it this year. I was sooo happy because it's a success as we were able to surprise our Pastor. Everyone shared and thanked him for all he's done in the church and all eyes were full of tears! It was so touching and so memorable. I was asked to make a card for him and have all the members sign up but I forgot to take a photo of the card before I gave it to our Pastor. Argh!! I just used a full A4 Night of Navy card and folded it into half and printed the 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 verse which says: "And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love" (The Message).

On with my cards, here are a couple of what I've done lately:

This is for my friend who requested a Tilda card with a blue theme.

This one's requested to me by a friend to a friend. And she wanted the colours orange and blue.

Below are some Christmas cards that were ordered to me by friends. I still have heaps to make!

This is all for now. I know I mentioned about a 'candy" on my previous post but I'm afraid it will be a bit late. Sorry! Just have to gather all the supplies first before formally posting it to you. But I will definitely have one..soon!

Thanks for the visit and have a blessed day!

Psalm 138:3

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I so enjoy making cards using Bible verses as the "main image" or focus. I've seen some who only puts the verses inside the card but that's not the case with me. I want it always at the front! :)

Here's a card I came up with the other night. I was just too sleepy to upload it that time and yesterday was a busy day for me around the house.

Here it is:

I used my new Basic Grey Wassail dp which I received last Friday on the mail. I ordered it from Bizzy Becs along with some Versamagic Dew Drops ink. I'm a bit surprised that the Wassail papers are all Christmas-themed, LOL! But this one will pass for an everyday card and I like the colour combo.

That's it for now as I still have tons of house chores to do. Be back later with a card or two. :)

God bless everyone!

Romans 8:28

Good evening everyone! Hope everything's going well with you wherever you are at the moment. I wanna share with you today the card that I made yesterday wherein I used my new Brenda Walton Beyond Postmarks dp by K&Company!!!

Look how gorgeous the dp is:

It's very lovely, isn't it??!! Well, I got this paper from Windsor Cottage Botanicals at a very reasonable price! I was so excited that's why I decided to use it on this card.

I started with a Mellow Moss base, and I matted my Beyond Postmarks dp onto a Bravo Burgundy cs. Nope, I don't know how to use a sewing machine and I don't have one so I just did a faux stitching here. LOL! The stitches on the verse panel had to be criss-cross just like I did with the edges of the card but something wrong happened along the way that it ended up with an unknown kind of stitch! LOL!!

I stamped my ODBD Scripture Collection 1 verse onto Whisper White, cut with Labels Small then sponged with Versacolor Petal Pink and Misty Mauve. I finished off the card using Prima flowers, Kaiser flower (Dusty Pink) and Paper Rose which I think really complemented the yummy dp. :) This card goes to my favourites for sure! ;)

I will post my take on LSC236 later tonight when my migraine goes away. :( I have it since early this morning and it's very painful.

Be sure to visit Windsor Cottage Botanicals for discounted paper craft supplies. If you're a first time customer, you're entitled to a 10% off your first order and not only that, Linda (the kind owner) is having a 25% off on most of her designer papers at the moment including K&Company!! Yay!!! Visit the shop now and tell Linda that I refer you to her store. She's a very nice lady. :)

Thanks for the visit and I'll see you on my next post.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #16

Hello everyone! I'm back with a card to share with you. But before I go on, I would like to extend my warmest regards to those who prayed for me during my Australian Citizenship test and my medical procedures which all happened last week. Thanks sooo much especially to my church family who, of course, also prayed for me. God is really good as I always say, and He is good all the time. :)

Okay, now on with the card. I haven't been making cards lately but I have coloured few images given to me by my online friend, Bec of BizzyBecs. :) So, I started with the Magnolia Down Under Challenge #16 for some Mojo-kick! LOL! You know sometimes it's hard to create a card when you took a vacation from doing it. The mechanics set for this challenge is to use the following colour combos:

- Pink, Brown and Cream/White
- Orange, Brown and Cream/White
- Blue, Brown and Cream/White

Yay! Soon as I saw the colour brown, I got so excited! Just in case you don't know, brown is my favourite colour. And combining it with other colours (especially with pink and orange) is as easy as a breeze to me. ;-) I chose the first colour combo for my card.

Here it is:

This card also highlights one of the new accessories stamps by BizzyBecs...here I used this sofa/couch where Tilda comfortably sits on. This is superb Bec, very perfect for those sitting Tildas. (thumbs up for you!) Here's another shot:

I also once again used my Shimmerz (Butter Cream) and applied a bit of it just enough to cover the middle part of each petals, leaving the colour cream of its sides. I also applied Shimmerz onto my cream paper rose...

and shimmerz onto Tilda's brown dress. I hope you can see the shimmery effect on this photo.

I'm into finishing another Tilda card and will post it tomorrow after doing the house chores. :)

Let me know what you think and thanks so much for visiting.

God bless us all!

Hugs,

ETA: The Choc Chip cs that I used is the negative side of Nestabilites die cut from which I cut out a scalloped oval that I used for another card. I was thinking of using those "negative sides" so as not to waste it (especially if a Choc Chip cs was used...it's my fav!) that's why I took the chance of using it in this particular card. At least nothing was wasted! ;)

15-MINUTE CARD

Hi all! I just want to share with you a card that I made for a friend. She's the very first one who bought a card from me and she's bought quite a few. And to show how thankful I am for her support (and for believing in me, lol) I made a card of thanks for her. This only took me 15 mins to finish. Did I tell you that I already have a rubber brayer? I bought it a couple of weeks ago as I wanted to venture into the brayering technique but still couldn't get the chance to sit and try it. So, I used the brayer for inking the negative side of the Cuttlebug folder and ran my SU! Pale Plum onto the bug. And here's the outcome:

I used Summer Sun ink for this and I think it somehow turned okay. I die-cut a scalloped oval to mat my oval Pale Plum where I stamped my sentiment (fr Stampendous). Easy peasy! And yes, only 15 minutes to finish. :)

Have to hit the bed now. Our family and the members of the church where we regularly attend will have a Family Day/Picnic tomorrow at Kangaroo Valley. I haven't been there but they said it's a very nice place. So, tomorrow...I'm off to relax with nature away from my stamping stuffs! :)

Have a blessed day!

Sarah Kay - Thinking of You

Hello everyone! This is just a short post as I just wanted to share with you my 2nd card for 2009. This sweet image was given to my by my friend Bec about 2mos ago. I was organising my stuffs and stamped images when I saw it and decided to colour and put it onto a card.
I coloured her with my Prismacolor Premier pencils using odourless solvent and blending stumps. I also used my mini clouds decorative scissors for my Choc Chip mat and I also used my Decorative Circles embossing folder (Cuttlebug) on this card.
Here's a closer shot of Sarah Kay..

Thanks for looking everyone. Until next post. God bless us all!

hugs,

"CHICKS RULE!"

Yeah, that's the title of my card. I made this one last night but I was too sleepy already to post it.I've used my Studio G rubber-mounted stamp (for the first time) and my $1 "chicks" from Clear Dollar stamps (first time as well). Aren't these chicks gorgeous??? I coloured them in with my Bic Mark-It and shadowed them with my Copic.

Off to have some lunch now. Will try to make cards later if my time permits me. Hubby wants the whole family to go out after his work. That sounds fun!

See y'all later! Have a blessed day! (CHICK RULES!!) lol! Oh, and Happy October, too! (yay! my birthday's coming soon!)

NEWS, New Stuffs and a Card

Hello everybody!!! How are y'all doing? I've been off the blogging world for a day and it's really been a quite busy weekend for me. Anyways, I have a good news for you, I recently joined a card competition on one of the online shops where I buy my stuffs. Actually, it just so happened that I bought something from there during the competition period and that's why I was able to get an entry (entries actually). The winners were drawn and one of my entries were picked and landed 2nd place! (yay for me!). My card entry that won was previously posted here before and you can see it on Bizzy Becs as all the winners entries are posted there for 4 weeks. (ETA: I'll post the prizes once I receive them...anytime this week! So excited!)

And for the new stuffs once again...I got these last Thursday and I still haven't got the chance to play with them. I got SU! cardstocks and their mat pack (paper piercing). I also got Imaginisce stamps, cupcake buttons and theImaginisce gorgeous papers that you see on your screen.

And finally, after 2 long days, I was able to come up with a card (which I just finished a few minutes ago). This lovely image (Elzybells) was a RAK from Peggy, my SBS 22 sister (thanks so much Peggy!). I used my leftover Chatterbox patterned paper and my DCWV matchmaker cardstocks. I coloured the image with watercolour pencils using my blender pen and printed a sentiment to complement the image.

That's all for today folks! I'm not really feeling well since yesterday so I guess I really need to go to sleep now. Please include me in your prayers. :-)

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

FRIEND...

Hello to you all! From my blog title itself...yes, this card is for a friend and I will be sending it to her today. I can't tell her name for she reads my blog and I wanted to surprise her with this. I was able to finish this last night and I feel kinda proud (*wink* *wink*) of myself with this card. Not because the image is so cute, but the colour combos are gorgeous as well! (tee hee! for me) I was thinking what ribbon colour to use until hubby stepped in and gave me a bit of his suggestion. So, the ribbon ended up in blue which somehow complemented Sarah Kay's jeans. I used Copic Spica on her hat, and on the sentiment, though it wasn't captured by the camera. Ohh..she's so lovely.

I put a lot of effort in tying the ribbon (I'm not good at this). I was even in front of the pc watching some tutorials on how to tie a ribbon...and I did it! (and that's another reason why I'm proud of this one LOL!) My husband told me that this card is gorgeous and that I'm getting better in making cards (what a sweet support).

So, tell me honestly...is this card gorgeous?? (hahaha!) I really hope my friend likes it. Let's wait and see. :)

See you later!

Two Quick Cards

Made these cards for 40minutes (but the image was already pre-coloured :) ) I made these for the two young girls in our church (Reena and Jamie) who happens to be "best friends". Notice that the image are the same, I just coloured them differently and used other cardstock colours to complement the image. I'm glad 'coz they both liked them. :)

The photo above was taken with camera flash on (that's why the glittery parts showed)

While this one was taken without the flash...

Got a bit of a migraine so I'll call this a day now. Will post more cards soon as I finished them. Btw, I'm already done with my SCS image swap (c/o SAMMI ) and will post them tomorrow. This is my first image swap and I'm soooo excited. ;)

Good night everyone. God bless you all.

"You're In My Prayers"

Hello once again! I have another card to share with you before we call it a day...(actually, it's almost 1am now). I tried my best to finish this cute card so that I can upload it here straight away.

Got this image from the internet (can't remember where). This has been on my folder for quite awhile now and so when I saw it this afternoon, I told myself that I'll make a card today for this image to be used. I'm starting to have the feel of colouring using markers...and I didn't actually use any Copic markers here...I used my new BIC Mark-It instead. Yes, they're also fun to use and they're nice as well. Got this yesterday from Officeworks while we were scouting for a new desktop computer. I got the pastel set and I believe there are other sets available because all in all, there are 36 colours in BIC Mark-It markers range. I will definitely buy the other sets (in fact, after hubby's work tomorrow, I will ask him to accompany me there LOL!)

Back to the card, here's a closer look at this very gorgeous girl. I tried to catch the glittery part on my camera, and I successfully did --this time. :)

I used my Copic Spica glitter pen (clear) on her teddy bear and on the green ribbon tied on her hair. (Did I say I didn't use any Copic here?) I'm a bit of "glitter lover" and besides, glitter or the likes add a bit of life to the image. Don't you think so?

That's all for today folks. I'd better sleep now, been sleeping late these past few days...definitely not good for my health (and yours, too!)

God bless everyone and let's keep praying for each other.

hugs,

jhet

ETA -- the grossgrain ribbon that I used is also purple (to complement with the teddy bear). the true colour just didn't show on the photo.
