THINK PINK!

Hello everyone! Here's my 2nd post for today, so if you wanna see my earlier post, just kindly scroll down. :)
This card is for ODBDSLC82 challenge -- Think Pink!  (Think Pink and Encouragement in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. (it need not be on the theme of breast cancer but it must be pink and have a verse or sentiment of encouragement)

My verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 2009.  I believe that this is an encouragement verse as it implies that everything has its own time; if there is sorrow, there is also a time for joy; if there is sickness, there is a also time for healing.

I stamped the scripture on a white cs, die-cut with Fleur de Lis Rectangle and while still on the die, I sponged it Memento Angel Pink using my large sponge dauber.  My dp is from Basic Grey Sultry which was matted onto a pink cs (too dark for this photo but it's a bit lighter IRL). The butterfly was cut from the same background dp with an additional stamped swirl from one of my stamp sets. I adhered a baby pink ribbon on the left bottom side, then finished it off with stacked of flowers and pearls for the butterfly.

Here's my card:

Thanks for looking and  see you again on my next post!

Hugs to all!  God bless!

TRUST IN THE LORD

Happy February everyone!! Hope you're all doing well by the grace of our loving Lord Jesus Christ. This is my very first blog entry for this month and my very first card for this month as well.

The card that I made is for the following challenges:
ODBDSLC46 "The Blues" - using the colour blue on your card/project
and
SSCC74 - to use the colours blue (to represent water) and green (for the pasture). The challenge was inspired by the Bible verse taken from Psalm 23.

Here's my take:

The scripture that I used is from ODBD Scripture Collection 1. This is one of my favourite verses and one of my memory verses that I always use in times of worry or uncertainty. TRUST in the LORD..... in this changing world that we live, only One is certain not to change and that is God.  He is immovable and forever faithful and we can always count on Him in times of need. Praise His name forever!

I stamped my verse with Memento Tuxedo Black and cut it using Labels Seventeen (a recent purchase). While still inside the die, I sponged around with Versamagic Sea Breeze and sponged the outer edge with Tim Holtz Broken China for some depth.  The middle section was sponged with Memento New Sprout and SU! Old Olive. Finished it off with a sky blue flower from Kaisercraft. I also sponged the edges of the flowers with the same ink that I used for the main panel (for the big flower) and Old Olive for the small flower. The blue pearl is from K&Company. I didn't have any sponging pattern with the main panel that's why you'll notice that other parts were sponged heavier than the others but I like how it came out. :) I hope this card will qualify for the ODBD "The Blues" challenge eventhough my background dp is more on green but I believe I used more blues than the greens here. LOL!

This verse also goes out along with my prayers to the people in Queensland (one of Australia's states) who are currently experiencing a cyclone. Just recently many families and homes were devastated by a flood and now a cyclone is currently hitting the state again. I firmly believe in the power of prayer and since we can't physically go there, we can only offer prayers for them and believe by faith that eventhough calamities happen in our lives, God is in control.

Have a blessed Thursday!

REJOICE!

Yes! Let us rejoice for Jesus has conquered the grave!!! Isn't this the main reason why we celebrate Easter?

Hello everyone! I hope you are well upon reading this post. I've just finished a very simple card which is my entry for the following challenges:

- SSCC32 (taken from Isaiah 40:31; to mount up part/s of your image, or do paper tole technique)

- ODBDSLC7 (Easter challenge)

The cross is part of the Spiritual Sketches set by Inkadinkado which I just received yesterday. Got a bit of a bargain there over EBAY! :) The sentiment is from ODBD's Worship the Lord set. It's actually a Christmas stamp set but I think we can always use the word "rejoice" when we acknowledge God's love and goodness, and to express joy when we know that Christ died and rose again to save us from our sins and to give us everlasting life, am I right?

The parts that I mounted with pop dots are the two big lilies (correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is a lily :) ). Here's a closer look:

I coloured my image with Copic markers and Bic Mark-It! The background was embossed with Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and spritzed with Glimmer Mist Pearl. Finished it off with 4 Kaiserpearls on the four corners.

That's it for now. Thanks so much for the visit and may our good Lord bless and keep you always.

Hugs to all,

Jhet

TRUST IN THE LORD

Hello blogworld! Hope all is well with you. Well, I'm finally done with a card which is supposed to be my entry for the ODBD2AC4 "All Time Favourite ODBD Set" but I came in late!! :( Anyways, I honestly enjoyed making this card because the verse is one of my favourites! And as the saying goes, it's not the destination, but the journey. ;-) I'm sure you all can relate with me.

I stamped my verse onto white cs with Versacolor Turqouise and then stamped a flower image (for a background) using Versacolor Vanilla. I purchased this flower stamp awhile ago from Jemac Rubber Stamps and I couldn't wait to ink it hence, its appearance on this card. LOL! I then cut the stamped verse with Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, and made a frame out of it using the other side of my dp. I adhered the frame using pop dots for dimension. Oh, btw, this gorgeous dsp is from K&Company Charlotte 12x12 pad. Theyre' actually more gorgeous IRL. Here's a closer look to see the dimension..

Instead of a bow, I used flowers instead (for a change). These are just assorted flowers and the one in the middle is actually white. I just sponged some ink on it with the same ink I used with my verse to complement each other.
This is all for now. I hope you had a lovely day if your're in Australia ('coz it's almost Thursday here already) or you're having a lovely day if you belong to the other parts of the world.
God loves you and cares for you, always remember that!
Hugs,
Jhet
