LOVE AND CHOCOLATE (LSC195)

Just yesterday I joined the Colour Combination Challenge over SCS and today upon seeing the word "chocolate" at the Limited Supply Challenge, a light bulb of ideas suddenly entered my mind. I just couldn't resist chocolates eventhough I get palps whenever I eat too much. LOL! Awhile ago I was just eating "Kisses" given to my by a friend and then came this card.

I had this stamp from Kaiserstamp for awhile now (which I bought on clearance for $3!) and I'm just waiting for the right time to ink it up until LSC195 was posted. I think this is meant to be used on this challenge. And of course, as I was also experimenting for some embossing techniques, I remembered my fiskars texture plates (without even knowing what the current LSC is all about) and yeah, it turned out to be perfect for this "chocolate theme". Plus, I also used my new chocolate Kaiser pearls and my untouched and uncut gingham ribbon AND my (first-ever) SU! ink pad - Choc Chip! Well, it arrived yesterday with 5 more different ink pads!!! Now, I can get to use different ink colours.

So, does it look chocolatey?

'Til next post and happy cardmaking!

CC189 - My FIRST Colour Combo Challenge

Good Morning! Hope you're all doing well. I'm really enjoying the challenges being held over SCS, wherein I always make it a point to join their card sketch challenge. Today, I again joined another challenge which is the Colour Combination Challenge. CC189 is combination of Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Choc Chip. Here's my take:

The Old Olive card base is the only one left in my stash. I also used my cuttlebug textile folder to emboss my pretty in pink bg. And yeah, I already used my Fiskars Lace border punch which I bought yesterday at Officeworks. Isn't it gorgeous?

More updates tomorrow (rather later), it's 2AM now here in Sydney.

God bless us all!

BLOG CANDY RECIPIENTS :-)

Howdy everyone! Yes, you've read it right, there are more than one person that I chose to give my blog candy to. They're the only 2 who participated in the challenge so I don't think there's a need for me to use random.org or draw their names on the hat. LOL! But of course, I wanted to thank all those who commented on my altered caddy, they meant a lot to me.

So, the blessed recipients are Sammi & Norma. Congrats to you both and thanks for participating. You can find their lovely cards here & here. I will just have to add some more to the goodies and divide them into two. ;-)

Until next blog candy!

Have a blessed day!

SC203 and New Blog Look

Good Morning! (it's 1:38 am now here in Sydney) I've just finished my SC203 card and I want to share it with you, of course. I've actually coloured my Sarah Kay image yesterday never knowing I would be using her for the SC203 sketch challenge.

Before colouring her, I already had this DCWV cs in mind and so I took the colours from there. It's from the Pocket Full of Posies stack. My hubby says I'm way better in watercolouring now than before and I'm improving as the days pass by! :) You must understand that he's my number one fan (and critic) in everything and that's one of the many things I like and love in him. Are your husbands/partners your #1 fan, too? ;-)

Oh, I have changed the look of my blog yesterday after seeing this gorgeous background. For those of you who do not know, brown tops my favourite colours and I like it when combined with the colour pink. ;-)

So that's it for today...and later at 10am I will be announcing the people who will receive my candy.

God bless everyone!

BLOG CANDY and an ALTERED CADDY!

EXTENDED UNTIL 19 NOVEMBER! (more items on the candy being added)

(This post will stay on top so check bottom for latest posts. THANKS!)

Hi everyone! I can't believe I wasn't blogging for...5days now! Anyways, hope all of you are doing well. My DS2 Jhetro has a fever which started only early morning today so I didn't get to do much but to look after him. Good thing I was able to grab this chance to post as he's busy watching his favourite Thomas the Tank movie.

Yes, I'm offering my very first blog candy. Yay! I've been meaning to give a candy even before my birthday last month but I just didn't get the chance. But anyway, anytime can be a blog candy time so I hope you'll enjoy my 1st ever candy! But before that, I have to share with you first this altered caddy which I finished a few days back. The first shot is the front view. I bought this wooden caddy in it's raw state for $4 in one of our dollar shops here. There are areas that were already painted and these areas are the edges (the orangey areas that you can easily notice).

I then used my Heidi Grace paper that perfectly complemented the colour of the paint. I didn't put anything on the sides as I only focused on embellishing the front and the back. The alphas were made using my Cuttlebug Olivia alphas and I used my Xyron 5" Creative Station to adhere them. I had fun mixing and matching my Primas with my buttons! LOL! And I really like the final outcome of this caddy.

Here's the back view:

I also sponged the paper edges with my Versacube (Bark) and Mod Podged the whole caddy!

AND now for the BLOG CANDY. Here's what you gonna get:

24 pcs of 6x6 Heidi Grace papers (well, they're almost like a cardstock in quality)

2 single clear stamps (by Imaginisce and Inkadinkado)

1 spool of chocolate-coloured satin ribbon

(will throw in some other stuffs as well)

The rules are just simple if you wanna play along.

1) Leave a comment telling me what you think of my altered caddy, and putting a link of my blog candy onto your blog so that others may see it as well,

and;

2) Make a card using my altered caddy as your inspiration.

Don't forget to put a number before your comment and the link to your card so I can see what you've came up to. For example: #1 then your comment.

Kindly leave your email as well when making a comment so that I'll know where to contact you just in case you win. :)

This is open until 19 November, Wednesday 11:59PM (AEST) and I will draw a winner on Thursday, 20 November at 10am (AEST).

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

ETA: I'm extending my blog candy offer for I know it's a very short notice between making the card and the draw day. Now you have more time and chance to create.

And sorry if I wrote October hahaha! It's supposed to be November. Gee! Thanks Bec for correcting me, I haven't noticed that myself.

Come join the fun!

First Flap Card and Another Altered Project

Hello my fellow bloggers and readers! Hope everything's doing very well with you. How was your weekend? Well, as I've mentioned on my previous post, my DS2 Jhetro had a fever and he only got a bit well yesterday morning. And yes, I've missed my Mother's Weekend Away last weekend because of that. It was actually a 3-day weekend away for mothers and was part of my DS2's childcare program. They know how stressful it is to have kids and so they came up with this one. The package was worth AU$100, free ensuite room and food and most of all, a whole body massage (which I was really looking forward to). Well, what can I do? I have to be there for my son (or maybe he sensed that I'm going away and he doesn't want me to..LOL!)

Anyway, here's my first ever flap card to share. I made it while looking at tutorial over the Scor Pal site. I just made the card a bit smaller as I used some of my used supplies for a starter.

Instead of using snap magnets, I used velcro and cut the round one to half. ;-) The patterned paper (patterned cardstock actually), was from DCWV pocketful of posies stack. I used my nestabilities to cut a plain circle and a scalloped one (In Color Blue Sky). I did paper piercing on the scalloped areas and tied a Blue Sky stitched grosgrain ribbon on top of the flap.

And...as I'm into altering these days. I altered another wood project last Saturday.
Below is the project on it's unassambled state. I was actually waiting for the Mod Podge to dry when this was taken.

Here's the assembled one (front view):

A bit of a side view shot:

And this one with a card I made using the leftover of the papers that I used on this project.

I really liked how this project turned out. You may notice that there were no flowers or embellishments. Well, I'm still yet to put some, or maybe I won't either. I dunno...maybe I'll just put a layered flowers on top and that's it.

Btw, my blog candy will end tomorrow. You know, I'm just a bit sad 'coz there are only few who commented but didn't join ( YOUR COMMENTS ARE REALLY APPRECIATED, just letting you know) and only one person submitted a card inspired by my caddy. :-( I even extended it (and even added few items) as I don't want to rush those who wanted to participate but then I guess my blog candy isn't that sweet at all. :-( Or maybe I'm havin' my blog candy at the wrong time? (people are too busy to join the candy) Or maybe I'm just being too emotional. Well, it's alright really. I was just of course, a bit surprised as this is my first ever blog candy offer.

Anyway, I won't get tired of giving candies away eventhough there will only be few who will join. Giving is better than receiving and I hope you don't mind if I ranted a bit.

So, happy blogging and I'll see you on my next post.

BTW, I've already hit my 5ooo post!!! Yay!!!!!

Have a blessed day!
