CAS64 Jen's Birthday!

Hello everyone!  My card for today is my entry for this week's CAS challenge (CAS64) over SCS.  It was Jen's (aka Ms Boo) birthday last 25th April so this card was in honour of her special day. She also requested to use the orange colour since it's one of her favourites.

Here's my card:

I used Roxy from InStyle stamps' Retro range since I believe that orange is one of  the retro colours so I guess the colour matches the image. :) She was coloured with Copics and I made her top and earrings sparkle with Martha Stewart Crystal Fine glitter.I finished off my card with orange satin bow made by Bow Easy adorned with a brown button. Sentiment is from Inkadinkado (I think).

Here's Roxy's close-up shot:

Thanks for the visit and have a good night! God bless!

Reverse Masking with Ginger {InStyle Stamps}

Hello everyone! I haven't posted for awhile as I've been busy around the house and all. I didn't get any chance to sit and create the past few weeks and I believe God is telling me something..and that is to slow down and spend more time with Him reading and knowing His words. During the times that I've been busy creating cards, I sometimes neglect my bible reading (in all honesty), but then things have changed and I know God is touching me and telling me to just be "still" and know that He is God. And He has to be first before anything else. :) So now, I'm back into my daily Bible reading and hopefully will be back on my regular posting and cardmaking as well.

This card isn't actually new. I mean, I've made this during my InStyle Stamps Guest Designer stint but just wasn't able to post it. I made this card to show the Reverse Masking technique. If you're already doing masking, then reverse masking is as easy as that.

Here's my card:

In this card, I cut out a circle then used the frame (from where I cut the circle) and sponged within the cut area (which in this case is, the circle LOL!) I just used a very subtle ink as backgrounds are meant to be soft and subtle. Here I used a Versacolor Baby Blue ink.

After I'm done with my sponging, I then stamped Ginger {InStyle Stamps} and the Butterfly from Studio G then coloured it with my Prisma pencils. Finished it off by putting tab ribbons and Kaiser Pearls in Chocolate.
Now it's your turn to try this technique out. I just hope that I was able to guide you with the how-to of the reverse masking even with just a very short instructions. :)
Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

MOJO79 {Hello}

Happy Tuesday! I'm not feeling that well atm but I'm glad I was able to finish a card using the Mojo79 challenge. I also know that I'm a week behind with the Mojo Monday challenge but it's better late than never.

This gorgeous girl who's talking on the phone is no other than Steph from InStyle Stamps. She's one of the new releases of ISS for the month of March. Whenever I see her, she very much reminds me of me (I talk long hours over the phone, lol!)

I really like the colour combo that I used with this card. The dp is from Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. So yummy looking, ey? I used a Tablex pink cs for the base and then an SU! Rose Red. I used my Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch under the Basic Grey dp. I haven't been using this punch for quite awhile and found it so fitting with this one.

I coloured Steph with Prismacolor pencils with odourless solvent and the sentiment I used is from Studio G. I finished off the card with a chocolate satin ribbon which I think complemented the the dp.

Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments in advance. =)

Cheers!

Easter Card

Whew! I can't believe it's already 1am here in Australia! I was caught up with my cardmaking that I didn't notice it's already late.

I was able to finish one card today featuring "Window" from InStyle Stamps digital downloads. Our printer has been having problems for more than a week now that's why I didn't have so much chance to make cards using the digi images. I had one of this Window printed once but I was planning to do some dimensions so I had to print another one. I asked my friend to print one out for me this afternoon and when I got home, the printed images were already here.

Here is my very first Easter Card made for this month:

My Spellbinders Tag Trio arrived the other day from Bizzy Becs and I was so excited to use it on this card. I coloured the image using my Copic Ciaos and as you can see (as I have mentioned earlier), I cut out some eggs and used pop dots to give it dimension.

I finished off the card by adhering dew drops at the bottom right. Easter is just around the corner so I really have to rush and finish off some Easter cards to be sent to friends and relatives. How about you? Have you done yours already?

Thanks for looking and have a great day! ;)

God bless.

Hi! It's Me -- YUKI!

Hi all! As promised, I'm now posting here the card that I've finished after my CAS card. Here, I'm using YUKI from InStyle Stamps. She belongs to the Anime line of ISS and for me, she's the most gorgeous of them all. ;)

This is my first time to colour an anime image and I'm glad that I was able to do it after spending heaps of minutes thinking what colour to use for her eyes. So, I decided to go Aqua (Copic Ciao) for her eyes and the rest is pretty simple.

You can't tell but I used my Copic Spica glitter pen (clear) on her eyelashes to give it some sparkle! As for her hair, after colouring, I went over it again using Colorless Blender pen to give it some highlights. Here's a closer shot:

I used my DCWV Matchmaker cs for the base and for matting the image and the mustard-coloured paper is from We R Memory Keepers. The polka dots paper is from Basic Grey Two Scoops which was die-cut using my Octagon shapes by Spellbinders. I stamped my sentiment (Studio G) onto Whisper White and used my Cuttlebug Tag dies to make the tag and inked the edges with Versacolor Cocoa. The ribbon was from..ahhh...I forgot! Sorry but it has been with me for ages but definitely I bought it here in Australia. lol!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog again and here's hoping to see you again on my next post.

God bless!

Pam and Buster {Best Friends}

Howdy fellow stampers and bloggers! I'm here once again with another card to share. And yeah, I'm getting back on track...slowly. And I just hope I will be in high gear (like I used to) in no time. :)

This card features Pam and Buster from InStyle Stamps. I paper-pieced Pam using Heidi Grace dp which I also used on my panel and coloured the rest of her with my Prismacolor pencils. And oh, I also paper-pieced Buster's shirt. lol! And since Pam's dress has polka dots, I decided to make the dots myself for Buster's with my Sakura gel pen. How do you like it?

I also made a little scene on this card. I sponged SU! Soft Sky to make the sky and a bit of Versacolor sponging between sky and the ground. The sentiment used is from Studio G. Here's another shot...just slightly different angle than the first one.

They really look like BFF with their clothes and "cool smiles". lol! My colour combo for this one is Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava. I really like the outcome as it looks so soft to the sight.

Visit the ISS blog for the sneak peaks and the ISS shop to buy these gorgeous stamps and digi downloads. ;)

Have a blessed day. Happy stamping!!

Updates and a Card

Hi everyone! I missed you and the blogging world lately! :) Just g ive you a bit of an update, I've been having migraines for a few days now and only got better yesterday. The change of weather here in Sydney triggered that and when it hits me, my productivity mode is at its lowest. :( Plus the fact that we're also a bit busy with our kids's school stuffs and all, so yeah, I hope you understand about not posting regularly. Once things run smoothly, I will be posting more often. :)

Anyways, I've actually done 2 cards but wasn't able to take photo of the other card. Our Pastor's daughter requested me to make her a birthday card for her friend. It was just a quick and easy card and handed it over to her last night. Only to realised when we got home that I haven't even taken a photo of it!!! Grrrrr!!

Here's the other card that I was able to finish this week (see how I struggled to make cards because of my migraine -- only 2 for this week?!)

I bet you've seen her before on my previous post. :) This one is for InStyle Stamps' DT call. I coloured SuzieQ with my favourite medium, Prismacolor pencils! I also did some sponging around the image and with the sentiment cs. This is the first time I used my Basic Grey Bittersweet paper pad! They are so yummmyyyy I tell you! I really like the combination of browns and pinks so this one's for me. :) I finished off the card by putting a ribbon and a big button and dew drops as well.
InStyle Stamps will be starting sneak peeks this Sunday so don't forget to visit the ISS blog so you can be one of the "first few" to see them!
Tomorrow we will be celebrating the 7th year anniversary of our church. I'm part of the Music Ministry (as I've mentioned before) so last night we had a short practice for our praise and worship. This will be very exciting as we invited some guests/ friends to celebrate with us. May God continue to bless our church with more fruitful years in the future.
I will be posting more in the next few days and I really have to do a lot of catching up! Thanks for visiting my blog. :)
Have a blessed day!

TIME TO PARTY WITH ROXY! {TLC209}

Howdy everyone?!! I've been having migraine attacks the last 2days and it's ohhhh so debilitating! I wanna do a lot of things but I just can't 'coz it won't give me a chance to focus on anything....it's really painful. :(

Anyways, this afternoon when I saw the TLC post for this week, I kinda feel challenged. I was having a migraine but I was able to join this "rubber bands stamping" technique. I was so excited that I forgot I was having migraine, lol! I used my untouched "Versafine Spanish Moss" ink with the rubber bands and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then sponged different colours here and there (I used Versacolor Bisque, SU! Regal Rose & Soft Sky). I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White but found it too plain without anything on it so I decided to use the same technique that I did with the background.

And what image is more fitting on this one?? Yeah, it's Roxy from InStyle Stamps! I stamped Roxy on Whisper White using Versafine Onyx Black and embossed her in clear ep. I coloured her with my Bic Mark-It! markers (I'm revisiting my other colouring mediums, lol!) and Copic Markers as well.

I cut Roxy out and boy, I had a hard time cutting the inside area of her arms. I used a pair of scissors for the outer part and crafter's knife for her arms. Did I do well on cutting those intricate parts? lol! I then used pop dots to give her dimension and that's it!
Here's my finished card:

Try this rubber bands technique and I'm sure you'll have fun in the process! Until next post.

May God bless us all!

Hugs,

Let's Get DIGITAL!

Hello fellow bloggers! It's already Feb 17th and I noticed I haven't posted for awhile. Where did those 2 days go?? Hmmm...anyways, I'm back and I'm getting digital this time. Whoa! What do I mean by that? InStyle Stamps has released *new* digital images to crave for! Like this one,hmmm..looks so yummy!

This is a basket full of muffins (or cupcakes for me!). I coloured my image again with Copic markers, cut them with Spellbinders Labels Two (yes!! I got mine yesterday! received from Bizzy Becs) and sponged around the image with Versacolor ink while it's still inside the die. I've matted the image onto Quill Manhattan cs (Orchid) and cut closely so as I can get a strong colour before matting it again on the light pink cs. The last size of the Labels Two die is quite big to mat the image closely that's why I decided to cut one myself. At least for this one. Easy peasy! :)

I used this brown cardstock (I forgot where I got this) as my base and directly stamped my sentiment with Versamark onot it then heat-embossed with pastel pink ep. Sentiment is from Hero Arts Cupcake set.

Why not visit the InStyle Stamps shoppe and find out heaps of gorgeous digital images there and at a very affordable price?! Not only that, there are also *new* releases from the Retro lines as well as the Anime stamps. What are you waiting for?

Okay I think is enough for now as hubby and I will be having a "Meet the Teacher" schedule over my DS1's school at 445 pm and after that will have my worship ministry practice at 630pm.

Thanks for always visiting my blog and for the lovely comments you give.

And to all stampers and crafters, remember:

"Creative clutter is better than idle neatness!"

God bless you!

Shopping List a la InStyle Stamps!

I've been meaning to post this simple project of mine for quite sometime but things sometime just got in the way that kept me from posting it here. Anyways, I'm proud to show you my Shopping List a la Instyle Stamps!!!!

I don't know about you but I'm the type of person who likes jotting down things (especially the things that need to be bought) and so, since it's New Year, I decided to make myself a shopping list/notebook. And who's more fitting than InStyle Stamps' SuzieQ!!!

This mini-notebook is a Spirax brand which I bought from Big W. I actually bought it for this particular project. I covered my notebook using Heidi Grace paper collection (from Big W as well), measured and cut complementing cardstocks for matting and coloured my image using Prismas and odourless solvent. I so, so like this odourless solvent technique (same as Gamsol technique). It really gives life to the image especially if you want it to look subtle. :) My sentiment was computer-generated and printed onto SU! Pink Passion and die cut using my standard scalloped rectangle nestabilities which arrived yesterday from BizzyBecs. Yay! My Nesties collection is growing!! :)

Okay, off to run an errand. Will post more later with another project and probably a card as well. Tomorrow my DS1 Jared will be back in school and DS2's in childcare as well so my "ME" days will be back! I'll miss my boys eventhough during their school holidays all they did was complain and make requests! lol! It's quite hard when you're already used to their "noise".

Children are a gift from God...and we have to cherish every moment we spend with them. :) That's why I always make it a point to pray for them everyday and I also pray that God will guide me and my husband to bring up these kids the way He wants it to be.

Enjoy the rest of the day! God bless!

Thank You Very Much -- and a SuzieQ Card (LSC204, Thankful Thursday)

Happy Saturday! First of all, I want to say THANKS VERY MUCH to those who prayed for my husband during his colonoscopy last Wednesday. Praise God he passed with flying colours and nothing was seen during the procedure. He was just kinda groggy for the next 24hrs and got too much wind, lol...but apart from that, he's A-OK! Thanks so much once again. Really, prayer is powerful. Amen?!

Anyway, here's my 4th card as Guest Designer for InStyle Stamps. This is SuzieQ - the lady who seems to love shopping! :) I know, a lot of us can relate to her, am I right? ;) I patterned the sketch from InStyle Stamps' Thankful Thursday sketch challenge (I know it's Saturday now, hehe) and also from SCS LSC204 wherein you have to use black as your background.

Here's SuzieQ...

Closer shot....

And here's another angled shot:

I coloured SuzieQ with Prismacolor pencils and odourless solvent. I also used my Studio G mini-stamps set (which I used for the sentiment and for the shoes and bag Versamark stamped images) that complemented with the SuzieQ stamp. If you will notice, I used Dimensional Magic for SuzieQ's glasses (to give it a glass-look finish) and for the shopping bags she's holding.
Here are the stuffs that I used:
Stamps: SuzieQ (InStyle Stamps), Studio G mini stamp set
Papers: SU! Basic Black, Whisper White, Only Orange, Bashful Blue, Basic Grey Archaic
Accessories: Prismacolor pencils, odourless solvent, blending stumps, Nestabilities, Dimensional Magic, Prima flowers, Kaiser pearl (chino), Copic Spica glitter pen (orange), Fiskars embunch (all a-fleur), pop dots
Thanks so much for looking! Have a blessed day!

Retro Roxy!

Hi everyone! I made my 3rd card for InStyle Stamps using the ever-gorgeous Roxy the 2nd time. She looks so sweet and she's one of my favourites among the divas of InStyle Stamps.

I coloured Roxy using my Prismacolor pencils, odourless solvent and blending stumps. I used my Nestabilities to cut Roxy with her afro hair and one foot outside the frame. I've seen this technique when I was blog browsing a few days ago and tried it. And it worked! lol! I then die cut the Choc Chip with my scalloped nestabilities and punched each scallop with my Fiskars 1/8" circle punch, it's actually the first time I used it. My paper is a Kaiser paper which was untouched for 4mos now...gee! I think it was just waiting for the right image (and timing) and so it looked well with retro Roxy! The sketch was patterned after Taylored Expression Challenge #45 only that I placed the dew drops on the right side instead of left. I finished it off by using my newly-purchased Copic Spica glitter pen in pink on Roxy's bangles and earrings. IMHO the colours look great altogether (I'm biased...pink and brown is my top combo fav!) lol!

So...what do you think?

Hello everyone! Yes, its official! You can head on to InStyle Stamps blog and see my name as one of their January Guest Designers! (insert an icon jumping up and down) I feel happy to be part of ISS team and I'm so looking forward to make more cards and projects using their gorgeous stamps.

Enough with the jumping for now(lol), I want to share with you the 2nd card I made for InStyle Stamps. This lovely diva is no other than Sheree! Look how she's enjoying her bubble bath! This image is perfect for a "feel stress-free" cards for our girlfriends (and for ours as well, lol!).

I coloured Sheree with Prismacolor Premier pencils using Odourless solvent and blending stumps. My background paper is form Basic Grey (Archaic) and cs were SU! Whisper White, Sage Shadow and the lovely Rose Red. I finished it off with Prima flowers and a dew drop at the center. Sentiment is computer-generated. I embossed the Rose Red cs with my Bubbles embossing folder (Cuttlebug) which I believed complemented the bubbles Sheree is making. :)

Exciting NEWS! (with a sketch and colour challenge)

Happy New Year everyone! And yes, I'm making it short and sweet-----

I was chosen to be InStyle Stamps Guest Designer for January!! Yay!! What a wonderful way to start the new year. And I thank God for it 'coz I know He's behind all these wonderful things that's happening to us.

This is actually a self-announcement (but not self-proclaimed though, lol!) as Virginia, the very kind owner of InStyle Stamps already gave me the "go-signal". She'll be formally announcing it come next week so make sure to visit the Instyle Stamps blog and to browse on the online shop so you can see the rest of the products they offer.

So, for a starter, I want to present to you one of InStyle stamps' gorgeous girls --ROXY!

Isn't she gorgeous?! With her afro hair and sweet smile - who can resist her? :) I coloured Roxy using my Prismacolor pencils to complement the CC199 color combo challenge over SCS which highlights the use of So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy and Handsome Hunter(I used the colour chart made by one of the SCSers that matches the SU cs and Prismascolor pencils). I used Odourless Solvent and blending stumps with my Prismas and put a bit of Copic spica glitter clear on her earrings, bangles and the outline of her top. (the camera didn't catch the bling, sorry). Here's a closer look at her:

Roxy reminds me of my youngest sister, Carol. She has the same smile like her (and the twinkling eyes as well, lol!).

Here's the list of the stuffs that I used for your reference:

Stamps: Roxy by InStyle Stamps; Paper: SU! Whisper White, So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter, dp unknown; Accessories: Prismacolor Premier pencils, Odourless solvent, blending stumps, Copic Spica glitter pen (clear), Fiskars all a-fleur embossing border punch, pop dots

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!
