SQUARE CARDS

Yeah I know, you always see square cards on my gallery. LOL! What I mean is, square cards but a smaller version. :) These cards are sized 4.75"x4.75". I'm beginning to make cards with such size as I want to make use of my scraps and other leftover papers or embellies or whatever I can find that isn't enough for a 5.5" square cards (sizewise) but is just too right for this 4.75" squares.

My finished cards:

Aren't they cute? :) The one in the middle is the Just Because card I posted a few days ago and rest are Christmas cards to be given for my family and friends.

Detailed shots below:

Here, I used my leftover dp from my "Stockings on a BIG Card" card.

And the papers on this one are from past projects as well. Can't recall what are those now. LOL! And I also tried stamping onto this stitched grosgrain ribbon from SU! using my Choc Chip ink. Not bad to look at though. ;)
How about you? How do you use your scraps?? :)
Thanks for visiting and happy Saturday!

WT245 Give Thanks

This week's Ways to Use It Challenge over SCS is about Giving Thanks. Such a lovely challenge that reminds us to be thankful everytime. As one of my favourite Bible verses says: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

So here is my share for the challenge. Looksee..

I had a hard time putting this card together as I actually started with it 3wks ago. Well, I really wanted the colours and the dp but I was thinking on what image stamp to use or if it really needed one in the first place. I set it aside and forced myself to forget about it and went along with my Christmas cards orders. LOL! But after seeing the challenge set by Julia over SCS, I suddenly remembered that I have a pending card to put together. Yes indeed it didn't need any image stamp, but a sentiment stamp would do! And voila!! My card's done! :)

I stamped the sentiment (Amy R Friendship Sentiments by CC Designs) with Night of Navy Ink onto the retired River Rock dp and cut it with Labels 4 Nesties. This goes out to all my friends...THANK YOU so much for the friendship! I love you all! ♥

Thanks again for visiting and if you haven't been saying thank you lately, you may start now. Remember that "Gratitude creates the most wonderful feeling. It can resolve disputes. It can strengthen friendships. And it makes us better men and women." -- Gordon B. Hinckley

God bless us all!

CC245 Always Real Chocolate

And this colour combo rocks! The CC245 over SCS is a combo of Real Red, Choc Chip and Always Artichoke (and any neutral colour is allowed as well). I really like these rich colours that's why eventhough I'm already 2days behind the challenge, I still made a card for that.

This House Mouse is sooooo adorable! Just look at him with his eyes closed. ;) That's why I chose the sentiment "Peace" to go along with the image as this mouse exudes peace and calmness. Don't you think so? :)

I stamped this mouse with Versafine Onyx Black, heat-embossed with clear ep and then coloured it with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils. His cheeks are more pinkish IRL, the real colour wasn't just captured by the camera. I cut it and mounted it onto a Basic Grey Wassail dp and then matted altogether onto a Choc Chip cs cut with Scalloped Oval Nesties.

Here's a closer shot:

Card size btw is 4.75" x 4.75". And most of the materials I used here are from my scraps. ;) The Choc Chip mat behind the Real Red is actually hollow in the middle. You know when you cut your mats using Spellbinders and what's only left is the square thing with holes on the middle resulting from your die cuts?? IFYKWIM. That's it! Sorry, I hope I'm making sense here. LOL!

Okay, this is it for now. Gotta grab some quick lunch for me and DS2.

God bless each and everyone of us! Enjoy your day!

Just Because (2nd post)

Hello fellow bloggers! Well, as I've said, I'm starting to make cards smaller than what I normally make. Not that I will refrain from making my 5.5's square cards, just trying these for a change and also to use scraps that I used from previous cards.

Here's a Just Because card to add on my stash:

It's Spring here but I really like the colours of Fall. :) I haven't been using my Shapeabilities Daisy Heads die so I used it here as I think it looks nice on rust and vanilla.

So simple but I like it! Btw, this is my 2nd post for today so kindly scroll down to see my earlier post.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you on my next post again.

Remember HER?

I'm sure you do! She's one of the first gorgeous stamps originally from Bizzy Becs called "Little Cuties Collection" and this one here is Hippy Girl Jewels!

I was part of the very first Design Team of Bizzy Becs and my exposure there really helped me a lot to hone my skills as a beginner. Thanks so much to Bec. So, in honor and gratitude of you, Bec, I once again inked this Little Cutie and used her on a card.

This one's for you BEC!

Isn't she the cutest?!! :) I coloured Jewels with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. The size of this card is 4.75 x 4.75. I'm starting to make cards with this size as I bought a pack of pre-cut card base more than a month ago and I believe it's time for me to use them. I've done a couple yesterday but will share it with you tomorrow. The sentiment I used here is from Jemac Stamps and reads:

A hug is the shortest distance between friends

For the meantime, I hope you enjoy looking at Jewels and let me know what you think by leaving a comment or two. Thanks for the visit!

God bless us all!

Stockings On A BIG Card

Good morning! I was requested to make a "big" card by a churchmate to be given to her boss at work. Well, this one's actually an A4 folded in half which I still consider big as I don't normally make cards with this size. :) She wanted the stockings onto the card so I used my Spellbinders Wreath and Stockings die. My stockings card are making waves really as I will be making another card order using that die. That will be my 4th stockings card order in less than 3wks! :)

The base is an American Crafts cs which I bought on A3 size for 99cents @ Lincraft. And it's very, very sturdy as it's 270gsm (if I'm not mistaken). It has to be masculine (as her boss is a guy) so I chose blue for this. The dp is from DCWV 12x12 Christmas Stack which I bought way back 2007 and the sentiment is from House Mouse Christmas clear stamps set. The rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the day!

God bless you.

Ice Skating Tilda

Good morning and happy, happy Monday to all of you! I will be sharing a card using Ice Skating Tilda for the second time. You may notice that this card looks familiar to you. Yeah, it is! I made a card for the Roses on Paper challenge using the same papers, image and embellishments which you can find HERE.

A churchmate liked it and asked me to make her one. To those of you who know me, I don't normally mass produce or make 2 cards so identical to each other. So, I just made a few twists and I'm sure, crafters as you are like me, you can easily spot the difference. :)

Don't be shy, tell me the differences that you're seeing. :)

Thanks for looking and I'm off to finish some house chores and then sit and stamp!

Have a lovely week! God bless us all.
