LOVING WITH ACTIONS AND TRUTH (SSCC75)

Happy Sunday everyone! Well, this is a scheduled post as I don't normally sit and post on Sunday mornings. Our Sunday mornings are spent just being together (the family), and preparing ourselves for the Sunday Service in the afternoon.  We really set aside that day for communing with God, celebrating His goodness and love and fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

On to the card, this is for SSCC75 challenge - based on 1 John 3:18 which speaks about loving others not only with words or tongue but with actions and truth.  The challenge is actually to make a card or project, wtihout any sentiment or words at the front, and yet signifies L♥VE.

And this is my take:

The name of the stamp is "a kiss for Chloe" by Sarah Kay. I think I bought this stamp a month ago and I've inked it up just now as it seems just right for the challenge. I haven't been colouring with Copics for awhile now that's why my hand was shaking (like it's my first time to colour) and I wasn't sure if I was making the right colour blending. LOL!! And I also found out that I'm already running out of E00 which I frequently use for colouring skin.  I guess it's time to call SAMMI's attention. (Hi Sam! **waving at you!**)  I normally order my Copics from her because aside from the fact that we're suburb neighbours, her Copics are cheaper compared to other shops. So if you wanna try, visit Mad for Markers and you'll find heaps of Copics in stock. :)

I just made this card pretty simple. After colouring the image, I then cut it out. I sponged Sahara Sand for the ground and made some grass wisps and pebbles using both Copics and SU! markers. I don't know how it happened but I noticed that there was some blue ink bleeding on the boy's left hand. :( I then sponged Broken China for sky then adhered my image. The green background was embossed using Cuttlebug Heartblocks and the lovely dp (where I took my colours from for my image) is from EK  Success (Stacy Claire Boyd). Finished it off with Kaiser pearls Chino at the bottom right part.

Thanks for the visit and have a lovely Sunday!

God bless!

MY FIRST MOJO MONDAY Card {Mojo72}

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I'm very, very excited to share with you that I'm finally joining Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I've been seeing their badge when I'm blog-hopping and wondered what's in there. So, two days ago, I went to their blog and found out all about their sketch challenge. The sketch that I saw there was last week's challenge, so I decided to come back this morning and found out Mojo72, which is this week's challenge:

So, to make the story short, I decided to join. And I also found out that every First Monday of the month they do a contest for all the entries. They will choose 2 winners (and this will be judged) and the winners will get a choice of their Verve stamp set. How's that?
So, may I now present to you....my first MOJO MONDAY card...

A bit closer look at Sarah Kay..
And another angle shot..

I'm so glad on how this card turned out. I think, this will be one of my favourites among the cards that I made. :) My hubby likes this one as well.
So, what do you think on my first Mojo Monday take?
Will post the materials that I used later, we'll just have our dinner at the meantime.
Thanks for looking!

Sarah Kay - Thinking of You

Hello everyone! This is just a short post as I just wanted to share with you my 2nd card for 2009. This sweet image was given to my by my friend Bec about 2mos ago. I was organising my stuffs and stamped images when I saw it and decided to colour and put it onto a card.
I coloured her with my Prismacolor Premier pencils using odourless solvent and blending stumps. I also used my mini clouds decorative scissors for my Choc Chip mat and I also used my Decorative Circles embossing folder (Cuttlebug) on this card.
Here's a closer shot of Sarah Kay..

Thanks for looking everyone. Until next post. God bless us all!

hugs,

Got 2 Cards to Share With You

Hello everyone!! How are y'all doing? Hope everything's in good shape. I have two cards to share with you today. These 2 cards are both my takes for SCS challenges. The first card is for the Featured Stamper challenge. Ebethneu was the Featured Stamper and if you will visit her gallery, you can see that she really makes gorgeous cards. I chose to CASE her Flower Picnic card (this is my first time to CASE someone else's card..LOL!).

I used Basic Grey paper (fr Sugared pad) for my background and punched the right side with my Fiskars Lace border punch (since I can't have Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch for now, this one looks good also). As you can notice, this is my first card where I used an oval shape Nesties. Yes, got my new set of Oval Nesties (standard and scalloped) from Bizzy Becs. I finished off this card by layering 3 Prima Flowers with a brad and putting these itty bitty Rose adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft.
The next card is for the SC204 sketch challenge. The sketch is so nice that I didn't wait for another day to make a card patterned from it.

I gotta tell yah something. Would you believe that I coloured this image using just ordinary coloured pencils? Yep! These pencils were giveaways for my kids (with a mini colouring booklet) from Bunnings Warehouse! ;-) I was trying to experiment with my blending stumps but couldn't found any colouring pencils that aren't water-based (I only have watercolour pencils and Copic markers). Since watercolour pencils will not work with baby oil (to be used with my stumps), I decided to try these little pencils instead. And I was surprised with the result! (How about you?) She looked like she was coloured with watercolour pencils!

Here's a closer look at her..

I guess I'll start using these ordinary pencils since they somehow work well with baby oil and the SU! Whisper White cs. Money saving tips for all of us hey! I used my Fiskars Lace border punch again and I think I'm getting addicted to it LOL! It really adds a nice touch to the card, doesn't it?

Off to make some finishing touches on another card.

May our good Lord bless and keep us always. Hugs to all!!

CC193 Sarah Kay in Black & White

hello everyone! hope you're having a lovely day wherever you are. today I'm going to share with you the card I came up with for the CC193 challenge over SCS. colour combos are Real Red, Kraft and Basic Black. i don't have basic black so I improvised with a black sheet of paper I found on my stash. my kraft cs wasn't from SU! as well but from ebay which I bought just 3 days ago (perfect timing for this challenge!). i also made some experiment with my new EK Success Intricate Iris corner punch and the outcome is the circular frame you see on my card below:

i will post a simple tutorial so that you will know how I arrived on that frame. i'm just compiling the photos as some of the shots were taken using my digicam but then it ran out of batt so I had to use my mobile cam. in other words, i used 2 cameras in just one tutorial! i made a frame on the kraft cs using my Scor Pal and then put 4 itty bitty Kaiser pearls (in black) in each corner. i left Sarah Kay black & white for a different look...(or was I just too lazy to colour her this time? lol!)

'til next post. have a BLESSED day!

Another SARAH KAY Card for CDBSC2

Good early morning everyone! (it's 227 am now here in Australia) I was about to go to sleep but since I was able to finish this card a couple of minutes ago, I decided to post it now. This is for Laurie's sketch blog which for me looks gorgeous. I used my RAK Sarah Kay image and my recently-bought Basic Grey paper from their Sugared collection. I'm getting really fond of the Prima flowers...look, I used them again on this card. :)

As always, thanks so much for looking and for visiting my blog. Hope my cards somehow bring inspiration to you.

May God richly bless us all!

Purple & Green SC201 and my Prima Flowers

Howdy everyone?! Sorry if I wasn't able to post for a couple of days. As usual, I've been very busy with the chores and school appointments. Hope everything's doing very well with you all.

I have finished a card just a few minutes ago and I decided to post it here now before going to bed. It's my take for SC201 card sketch challenge over SCS. I was browsing over the forum and saw that SC201 is already up and running so I gathered my senses and put on a card for that. Here's my finished card:

Sorry the photo is a bit blurry. I'll try to take a photo of it again tomorrow and upload the new one here. I used SU!'s Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke for this card along with my Dena Designs paper (which is a leftover from my "All Things Purple Card" post, remember?) I used my Sarah Kay image and coloured her in with my Copics. And yes, I already used my new Prima flowers (Essentials 3 range)!! I got this flowers from a shop that was about to closed (that time but now it's already closed)..and so I got these for 50% off! Yay for another bargain! I actually came across these discounted flowers I think 2 days before the shop closed, so it was such a quick decision that I made to purchase them. Here are those flowers:

These are Croquette and Steal Toe Mary Jane from Prima Essentials 3. One box contains 193 flowers (yeah, I did count them LOL!) and the other one has 186 flowers and there are 4 styles of flowers in different colours. Aren't they gorgeous? I got them for AU$6/box and I don't think I could get them any cheaper from other shops.

So, there goes my post for today. It's 1:36 AM now and I need to go to sleep. Congratulations to all my friends and relatives in the US who has Barack Obama now as their President. I believe that a big change has come to your country.

God bless us all!
ETA: I replaced the photo with a clearer shot of the Sarah Kay card. :)
Hope you like it.

SARAH KAY SC197

Here's my take at SC197 sketch challenge over SCS. This is the first time I used two different patterned papers on a card. I coloured the image (which is computer-generated) with my Copics and Bic Mark-It. I will post more later as I have to cook dinner and bring it over to my BIL's house (sort of family dinner bonding).

Ciao!

World Card Making Day and My Exhortation

HAPPY WORLD CARDMAKING DAY!

Yeah, it was actually yesterday (because it's now Sunday here where I am), so in celebration of World Card Making Day, I made a card yesterday, though only one card (at least). Just a simple card as my creativity isn't functioning that well, I still am a bit unwell, I feel so lightheaded and I don't know :(. I guess my MVP symptoms are up again (MVP- mitral valve prolapse. It's a condition of the heart but not a heart disease). My Cardio said I might have gotten this since birth or something triggered it along the way (like pregnancy, giving birth). And there are sensitivity issues that comes along with this MVP so I have my UPs and DOWNs with it. I was diagnosed with MVP way back January 2005. Anyway, here's my card for you to see:

Another thing that's keeping me from making card is I'm organising my very, very small craft space (I have to even if I'm not feeling well). I don't have a craft room and I only have a small table inside our master's bedroom. I also have small cabinets to store my supplies. I asked hubby to modify my table to accomodate other stuffs so that I can have enough space and can work well on my projects. I'll show you what he did once I have everything organised. :)

It's First Sunday service in our church today (Joy of Life Christian Church) and I'll be the one to exhort on Tithes and Offerings. My exhortation was taken from Proverbs 3:9-10 which says "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops, then your barns will be filled with overflowing and your vats will brim over with new wine." Generally speaking, it means we must honour God first in everything, especially with our wealth. And I guess we shouldn't ask how much we will give but how much we will keep for ourselves.

Have a blessed day fellow bloggers and readers!

FRIEND...

Hello to you all! From my blog title itself...yes, this card is for a friend and I will be sending it to her today. I can't tell her name for she reads my blog and I wanted to surprise her with this. I was able to finish this last night and I feel kinda proud (*wink* *wink*) of myself with this card. Not because the image is so cute, but the colour combos are gorgeous as well! (tee hee! for me) I was thinking what ribbon colour to use until hubby stepped in and gave me a bit of his suggestion. So, the ribbon ended up in blue which somehow complemented Sarah Kay's jeans. I used Copic Spica on her hat, and on the sentiment, though it wasn't captured by the camera. Ohh..she's so lovely.

I put a lot of effort in tying the ribbon (I'm not good at this). I was even in front of the pc watching some tutorials on how to tie a ribbon...and I did it! (and that's another reason why I'm proud of this one LOL!) My husband told me that this card is gorgeous and that I'm getting better in making cards (what a sweet support).

So, tell me honestly...is this card gorgeous?? (hahaha!) I really hope my friend likes it. Let's wait and see. :)

See you later!

Sarah Kay card

Hello fellow bloggers and readers! Just want to share with you a card with a Sarah Kay image. I don't have any stamp of her but was able to get an image over the net. I printed it onto my Whisper White cardstock and coloured her with my Copics, Bic Mark-It (new pastel colours) and watercolour pencils. She's so gorgeous!!! I enjoyed colouring her. Have to get more images of her soon. LOL!

Here she is...

Isn't she gorgeous? It's really fun to colour her.
