Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Though we don't celebrate that here in Australia, I believe that everyday should be a Thanksgiving Day as our Father in heaven blesses us everyday as well. Let's learn to live with a grateful heart while acknowledging that everything that we have comes from God. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!!

Here's my take for this week's sketch challenge (SC360) over SCS. The images that I used are actually not from a Christmas stamp set --- I just dressed it up to make it look Christmasy. (talking about improvising).

I didn't cut the circles but did the other option of layering on top of 2. What else? My McGill branch punch didn't work so I used this Fern punch from Carl Craft instead. The hats are actually birthday hats from the same stamp set (Changito Dos) so I just adorned it with stickles and pom poms on top to make it look like Santa's hat. :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

A closer shot of the monkey couple :)

Thanks for the visit and have a blessed day!

Be Thankful ....

Happy Wednesday blogland! My card for today is for the Clean and Simple Cards (CAS106) based on NancyK's sketch.  Since this is a CAS card, it only means to say that layers and embellishments are limited. :)  Here's my take:

Sorry for the photo quality as I only took this using my mobile phone. The stamp is from Stampabilities and the verse is from 1 Thessalonians 5:18 which says: "Be thankful in all circumstances." (Amen!) If we belong to Jesus, the Bible assures us that all our circumstances is according to God's plan for us. In which case, we must be all be very thankful in whatever situation we are in for God is with us! :)

I stamped my image onto watercolour paper and coloured it in with Copics.  Fairly quick and simple card, I may say. Finished it off with a grosgrain ribbon and a button.

Thanks for looking and see you on my next post.

God bless!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #72

Happy Sunday and Good Morning from Sydney, Australia! I don't normally post on Sundays but I finished this card last night and didn't get the chance to post it so I'm doing it now.  This card is my first ever entry (if I'm not mistaken from memory) to the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Yay! The FTTC72 challenge was set by the talented Silke Ledlow and she provided a sketch for us to use.

And here's my take on that:

This is also my first to colour this image (I always colour Tilda from Magnolia and some CC
Design's girl image stamps).  Please understand that this is just a RAK stamped image I received from my lovely online friend Jackie.   Honestly, I see her often on other people's blogs but I really don't know the image name (sorry). Would you mind telling me who she is, please?? I just want to give proper credit to this cute image and I don't want her to go unnamed for days. TIA!

I coloured her with Copic markers and as you can see, I didn't do much shading (aside from her hair) as I don't have yet the nearest colours of the green and orange that I used. I was just actually practicing to colour her and when I was about to colour her clothes, I thought I had to find a dp to get my colours from. I wanted something with brown (my favourite colour!) and so I took this lovely dp from Basic Grey.  All edges were distressed using Antique Linen Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  I punched the scallops of my frame to match the Fiskars Threading Water border punch that I used.

And for reference, these are the Copic colours that I used:
hair: E29, E25, E33
skin: E000, E00, E11
basket: E25, E35 / flowers: Y06, Y11, YG17 (for the leaves)
top: YR16, Y11, YG17
socks: YG17

I used my Copic Spica Glitter pen Orange to put a bit of sparkle on her ribbon. Sorry but the cam wasn't able to capture that.

Thanks for the visit and  remember, it's Sunday today and it means.... Church day!! Time to celebrate God's goodness with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Have a blessed Sunday!

SC286 Sweet Little Girl

Happy Thursday fellow bloggers and stampers!  I want to share with you today a card I made for the Sketch Challenge(SC286) this week over SCS.  At last, this sweet image was finally inked after months since I purchased it from a Craft Show.  This image was from JEMAC Stamps and unfortunately, the stamp name wasn't on the label when I bought it.  But isn't she so sweet to look at with her smiling face (even while sleeping) and the ribbons on her hair? :)

I was just actually practising my colouring with Copics and I chose this image when I ended up liking how it turned out! LOL! I bet you can relate with me and you had those moments, too!  So, I decided that I would use her on a card but slept on it 'cause I still didn't have any lay-out on my mind yet.  And this morning, while I was doing my daily browsing at SCS, I saw the sketch challenge for this week and thought, hey! this lay-out would be perfect for my image. And so I gave it a try. :)

Yes, I paper-pieced her pillow and her quilt/blanket and it wasn't easy especially with the pillow (look at her hair!)  I also used pop-dots to give the ribbons on her hair and her teddy some dimension.  The dp is from K&Company Sweet Pea Studio pad and I got this from Windsor Cottage Botanicals at a very reasonable price. :) The checkered ribbon is from my stash and so is the button.  I finished off the card with some Kaiser pearl Blush on the four corners.

Thanks for the visit and have a blessed day!

SC278 Take Time to Laugh

Hi everyone! It's Friday once again and the last day of April! Wow!! It's actually getting colder and colder here each day. I can sense that Winter is coming soon. :)

My card for today is actually my card for last Wednesday's sketch challenge over SCS.  I made it very simple, not matting the dp and just matted the sentiment panel.  The sentiment btw, is from Darkroom Door Melody set.  I actually wanted to go monochromatic but I ended up using violet to give the sentiment a "pop".

Thanks for looking and I'll see you on my next post.

God bless!

ODBDSLC9 Pink and Blue

I already feel a bit tired and sleepy but I want to share with you first what I've accomplished this day. This card is for ODBDSLC9 and it's actually a sketch:

And here's my card:

These are not my usual colours but I gave it a try for a change. The dps are both from Basic Grey; Urban Prairie and Lilykate. My Bible verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 1 which was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, cut with Circle Nestabilities, sponged with Versacolor Petal Pink and Orchid while still inside the die and matted with black Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. All panels were sprayed with Glimmer Mist Pearl except for the card base. I also did some piercing around the center panel and the bow was made using Bow Easy!

Thanks for looking. I'm off to sleep now. Hope you are having a great day or you had a great day as I did. We had our Fellowship Dinner after our church service and it was really fun and there were lots of foods and picture-taking. ☺

Thanks so much for looking and I'll see you again next post.

God bless you!

FTL81 Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone! As I was reading a comment from VERA on my previous card (thanks so much for the lovely comment VERA, I appreciate it!), I visited her blog and saw this Clean & Simple Stamping challenge blog. And soon as I saw the challenge for this week, I felt I'd like to play along.

So here's my simple take on the sketch. I don't have circle punches (am I the only one?). Well, I mean, I do have them but what I have are those bigger than a 1" circle and so I just opted to use my Circle Nesties for this (the second to the smallest). It's still bigger than 1" though. :) Well, the challenge is to use circles and there isn't a limit to its size (is there? LOL!). Stamp is from Hero Arts and dp is from DCWV Garden Party stack.

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day!

Milly Rose - Crafty Muse Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! I just want to share with you a card patterned after the ongoing sketch challenge over Crafty Muse. This sketch was provided by my fellow Craft Muse DT Sarah.

And here's my challenge card for that:

I coloured Milly Rose using Copic markers and Bic Mark-It. I've just noticed that I'm so into Prismacolor colouring these past few days that's why I decided to use my Copics for a change. :) And besides, my papers and cs are all vibrant and bright so Copics can justify that quality. I've embossed the 2 background cs with my Cuttlebug Divine Swirl embossing folder and die cut the sentiment using my Olivia alphabet set. I used Dimensional Magic to give the letters a bit of effect. I then finished my card by putting some Copic Spica glitter pen here and there.

Hope you like my card and if you have time, please visit the Crafty Muse blog and join our sketch challenge.

God bless you!

Retro Roxy!

Hi everyone! I made my 3rd card for InStyle Stamps using the ever-gorgeous Roxy the 2nd time. She looks so sweet and she's one of my favourites among the divas of InStyle Stamps.

I coloured Roxy using my Prismacolor pencils, odourless solvent and blending stumps. I used my Nestabilities to cut Roxy with her afro hair and one foot outside the frame. I've seen this technique when I was blog browsing a few days ago and tried it. And it worked! lol! I then die cut the Choc Chip with my scalloped nestabilities and punched each scallop with my Fiskars 1/8" circle punch, it's actually the first time I used it. My paper is a Kaiser paper which was untouched for 4mos now...gee! I think it was just waiting for the right image (and timing) and so it looked well with retro Roxy! The sketch was patterned after Taylored Expression Challenge #45 only that I placed the dew drops on the right side instead of left. I finished it off by using my newly-purchased Copic Spica glitter pen in pink on Roxy's bangles and earrings. IMHO the colours look great altogether (I'm biased...pink and brown is my top combo fav!) lol!

So...what do you think?

Sweet n' Sassy for SC208, LSC200

Hello! How are you doing everyone?! It's been awhile since I last posted here. Well, just became quite busy with the Christmas preparation but now I'm slowly getting back on track. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas celebration with your families, friends and relatives.
I have this simple card to share with you which is patterned after the SC208 sketch challenge (and LSC200 as well) over SCS. I've been so way behind the challenges these past few weeks but at least, somehow I was able to make one even if I'm a bit late.
Did I ever tell you that my hubby's Christmas gift to me was a 72-pencils tin Prismacolor Premier?? Yes! He let me ordered it on the 17th of Dec and it arrived the next day! That fast!!! But I wasn't able to used them until I made this card. As I've said I was a bit busy with other stuffs and besides, it's just recently that I had all these wondeful pencils sharpened. here's my card where I used my Prismas along with Odourless solvent:

My image is Sweet n' Sassy by Sugar Nellie which was given to me by Bec, I think almost 2mos ago now. I just made this card very simple so that the focus would be on the image. Isn't she lovely and sweet? I also used my new Fiskars embossing border punch (all a-fleur) which look lovely on this card as well.

So, what do you think?

Thanks for looking and may you have a blessed New Year!!

Hugs to all,

Christmas Look and Boys Will Be Boys Challenge

Hello everyone!!! Can you believe it? Just 6 more days to go before Christmas!! Wohooo!! Time really flies so fast. That's another reason why I changed my blog background as I want to have a Christmas feel on it (aside fr my Christmas tree countdown). But I'll be using my previous background soon as holiday season is over. You mustn't forget that BROWN is my fav! :) I'm already done shopping for some Chrissy gifts and also with the Christmas cards (I think, lol!) I'm just finishing few bits of my gifts to my "women" churchmates and soon as I'm done with it, I'll surely be posting it here.

Anyway, Crafty Muse is running a new blog challenge and it's all about "boys". So the theme would be "Boys Will Be Boys". Here's my card which I patterned from SC207:

This is Carson, the Mac lover. ;) Isn't he cute? Sammi has been working with him along with the other guys the past few weeks and now they're here!! Hop on to Crafty Muse and join us as we welcome these guys! There are lots of digi-freebies, too, so make use of them and have fun!!

Happy Cardmaking! :) God bless!

Getting Ready for Christmas!

Hi everyone! I know most of you have just woke up but in my part, I'm about to sleep 'coz it's already 1:14am here in Australia. :) Well, just want to share with you what I came up with tonight. But before that, I'll tell you a bit about what happened today. Me and my DS2 Jhetro went to my husband's work on his second shift and was with him the whole time he's driving the bus (my hubby is a bus driver here which is under the state transit). He picked us up from our house during his meal break then went with him on the bus. My darling son enjoyed it very much as he really loves buses!

After my husband knocked off from work, we then picked up DS1 Jared from his school. At around 5ish, we then went again to his school for a Parent-Teacher interview. My hubby and I are so proud of him as he got really good grades. His teachers were very amazed with his performance and they said that Jared is really different from kids of his age. Meaning, he's very mature and most of the words that he speaks are not "common" words that you would hear for a 9-yr old boy. Well, I must say that my son really is fond of reading and boy, he's got a very good memory! I feel so blessed for him. I'm so blessed with my kids and of course, with my husband.

Fast forward -- we then went to Officeworks as I want to buy coloured pencils which aren't water-based so I can use it with my blending stumps and baby oil. (remember I ran out of blender pen?) After doing a bit of searching, I decided to buy the Crayola pencil set of 36 which only costed me AU$4! I was also able to buy cardstocks which are on "special" prices. You can see it on the card that I've just finished. Here it is:

To tell you honestly, I'm a cardmaker and a stamper who doesn't own a lot of stamps. I don't do stamp-shopping that much because we're a single-income family and I have to stick to the family budget. I however do some shopping once in awhile but I train myself (and always make a note to self) that I can't always get what I want. ;-) I always tell this to my kids as well, that we may not always get what we want, but we are so blessed to receive the things that we need. And that's enough for me, really. So what I do is, improvise sentiments by printing them onto computer and finding some gorgeous images online to colour and put onto a card just like this one. I'm also blessed that I always find bargains online and offline and I have cyber friends who are so kind and generous to send me stamped images. You know who you are ---thanks so much!

I coloured my image using the Crayola that I just bought and I was so surprised that the colours can easily be pulled by the stumps. And the colours are vibrant as well. I patterned the sketch to SC146 over SCS and finished off the card by putting Copic Spica glitter pen onto the baubles.

Here's a different shot that captured the sparkle.

And a different angle shot..

This is all for now. Thanks for visiting my blog and for leaving lovely comments.

May our good Lord bless us always.

with love,

SNOWMAN -Take TWO on SC205

Good Afternoon everyone! Yes, it's almost 1pm now here in Australia and I haven't eaten my lunch yet. lol! (but I definitely will after this post) I made another card for the SC205 sketch challenge. I'm enjoying the sketch that I wanna do more cards with it. Anyway, here's my other card...

I used Taken with Teal and Gable green this time. It surprised me to know how good these two colours look together. I did partial embossing here (well yeah, first time after awhile) and it's a success! ;-) I used the Snowflakes and Swiss dots embossing folder and scored some lines between the gaps. There was no stamping done here, just purely Cuttlebugging.

Here are the stuffs that I used for your reference:

SU! Whisper White, Gable Green, Taken with Teal
Cuttlebug Snowflakes & Swiss Dots embossing folder
Cuttlebug Snowman die
Scor-Pal, Icicles (stickles), white gel pen, rhinestones, pop dots

Oh, I'm starving now, gotta grab some lunch. See yah later.

Have a blessed day!

CHICKS RULE! {SC205 Sketch Challenge)

Howdy everyone?! It's half past 12am now here in Australia and I'm about to sleep but of course, I will post my latest card first so I can share something with you. Here's the sketch challenge for this week ver SCS:

And here's my answer to that:

This is my first card with the most layers. :) I took all the colours of the layers from my patterned cs which is from DCWV Nana's Nursery stack. I just got these stack last week and they're very gorgeous IRL with all its glitters and colours. I used the ff: cardstocks for this card:
SU! Whisper White, Regal Rose, So Saffron and DCWV Brights mat stack (for the green mat). I stamped the Studio G image with Regal Rose and coloured it with my Aquarelle and blender pen.

This is all for now and it's time for my much-needed sleep. I feel sleepy during the day these past few days.

Good night everyone and may God bless us all.

hugs,

(now I have a signature...so close to my real one)

My FIRSTS: Whiff of Joy and Hanna Stamps

Blessings to all of you my blog readers and fellow bloggers. Hope everything's doing well with you and your families. I wasn't feeling well yesterday especially during afternoon and I really feel so blessed because eventhough my husband was tired from work, he took over my kitchen duties and prepared dinner for the family. He's really a blessing!

When I got a bit well, I managed to finished 3 cards (yes, 3 cards and I'm still a bit unwell lol!). I was able to inked up my FIRST Whiff of Joy stamp which I won on a blog candy I think, more than a month ago.

Here's Charlie and his dog on a card patterned after SC120 and CC172 challenges over SCS.

Here's another Charlie card I created using my DCWV Christmas stack as background. I purchased this stack last year, I think and has been my favorite eversince. (wishing I could use it on everyday cards lol!)

Oh, and have you noticed that I made a "snow scene" on these cards? Hahaha! Finally, I plunged into sponging and making a "scene" lol! But for now, it's just snow scene until I master it. ;-) I used my Soft Sky ink pad for sponging which I bought just last week. (well, I actually bought it for that reason..sponging and making snow and sky scenes).

The card below is just a simple card which I was able to make using my leftover cardstocks and supplies. This turned out to be simple but cute (IMO lol!) and a good way to use those leftovers so nothing would go wasted.

And of course, here's my other FIRST ..Hanna! I bought this more than 2mos ago (if I'm not mistaken). I just didn't know what happened why it took me so long to ink her up. Well, maybe I'm just waiting for the "right" timing..I believe this happens to you as well. Like, you have purchased a stamp or stamp set and wouldn't be using it for a couple of weeks or months until your Mojo tells you to use it on a certain project, right? I know, I'm not alone hehehe!

I coloured her with the colours on my background patterned paper (Dena Designs Christmas collection). I Cuttlebugged the bluish cs from DCWV mat stack and pop dotted the main image. See, I used the "snow scene" again?!!!

Thanks for looking and will post more later after I finished the rest of my chores.

God bless you!

Got 2 Cards to Share With You

Hello everyone!! How are y'all doing? Hope everything's in good shape. I have two cards to share with you today. These 2 cards are both my takes for SCS challenges. The first card is for the Featured Stamper challenge. Ebethneu was the Featured Stamper and if you will visit her gallery, you can see that she really makes gorgeous cards. I chose to CASE her Flower Picnic card (this is my first time to CASE someone else's card..LOL!).

I used Basic Grey paper (fr Sugared pad) for my background and punched the right side with my Fiskars Lace border punch (since I can't have Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch for now, this one looks good also). As you can notice, this is my first card where I used an oval shape Nesties. Yes, got my new set of Oval Nesties (standard and scalloped) from Bizzy Becs. I finished off this card by layering 3 Prima Flowers with a brad and putting these itty bitty Rose adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft.
The next card is for the SC204 sketch challenge. The sketch is so nice that I didn't wait for another day to make a card patterned from it.

I gotta tell yah something. Would you believe that I coloured this image using just ordinary coloured pencils? Yep! These pencils were giveaways for my kids (with a mini colouring booklet) from Bunnings Warehouse! ;-) I was trying to experiment with my blending stumps but couldn't found any colouring pencils that aren't water-based (I only have watercolour pencils and Copic markers). Since watercolour pencils will not work with baby oil (to be used with my stumps), I decided to try these little pencils instead. And I was surprised with the result! (How about you?) She looked like she was coloured with watercolour pencils!

Here's a closer look at her..

I guess I'll start using these ordinary pencils since they somehow work well with baby oil and the SU! Whisper White cs. Money saving tips for all of us hey! I used my Fiskars Lace border punch again and I think I'm getting addicted to it LOL! It really adds a nice touch to the card, doesn't it?

Off to make some finishing touches on another card.

May our good Lord bless and keep us always. Hugs to all!!

SC203 and New Blog Look

Good Morning! (it's 1:38 am now here in Sydney) I've just finished my SC203 card and I want to share it with you, of course. I've actually coloured my Sarah Kay image yesterday never knowing I would be using her for the SC203 sketch challenge.

Before colouring her, I already had this DCWV cs in mind and so I took the colours from there. It's from the Pocket Full of Posies stack. My hubby says I'm way better in watercolouring now than before and I'm improving as the days pass by! :) You must understand that he's my number one fan (and critic) in everything and that's one of the many things I like and love in him. Are your husbands/partners your #1 fan, too? ;-)

Oh, I have changed the look of my blog yesterday after seeing this gorgeous background. For those of you who do not know, brown tops my favourite colours and I like it when combined with the colour pink. ;-)

So that's it for today...and later at 10am I will be announcing the people who will receive my candy.

God bless everyone!

My Purple Santa SC202 (and a photo tutorial)

Hi everyone! I have just finished my take for the SC202 sketch challenge over SCS. Here have a look:

The image I used here was from a swap image done over Craftmad. It's Santa and Reindeer by Hero Arts. I coloured it using my Aquarelle and blender pen and used my Copics as well to colour other areas. I coloured it last night and put it onto a card this afternoon as I'm cooking our lunch - beef steak! Yummo! I used my Kindyglitz (very similar to Sitckles, but bigger in size) to put some bling on top of Santa's hat (I used Dusty Rose there) and on the reindeers (Aztec Gold there).
Here are some closer shots..

And yes, my background was embossed using Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder. And take note, my background cs measures 4.5 x 6.5! (meaning, I was able to embossed the whole cs considering the folder is smaller than that). Well I did it in 2 pass and it's not that hard, really.

Here's what I did, check out the photos:

So, that's how I did it. I hope you got it even without words. (well, photos sometimes speak louder than words LOL!)
Happy cardmaking and have a blessed day!
