Great Is God's Faithfulness

Happy Monday everyone! After more than a month, I was finally able to sit on my craft table and created a card!! My craft area is still a bit of a mess but I'm happy I managed to make a card while my boys are in school (and hubby's at work). :)

The dp that I used is from K&Company Charlotte. Saw it while I'm tidying up my area and decided to use it in this card. The stamp is from ODBD, sponged with Memento Tuxedo Black, die cut using Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and sponged the background using Memento Dew Drop (while still inside the die). The flowers are from Prima and they are more purple IRL than in this photo (they complement the sponged background, actually).

Thanks for following my blog and for visiting as always!
Praise God for His faithfulness! God bless us all.

THINK PINK!

Hello everyone! Here's my 2nd post for today, so if you wanna see my earlier post, just kindly scroll down. :)
This card is for ODBDSLC82 challenge -- Think Pink!  (Think Pink and Encouragement in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. (it need not be on the theme of breast cancer but it must be pink and have a verse or sentiment of encouragement)

My verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 2009.  I believe that this is an encouragement verse as it implies that everything has its own time; if there is sorrow, there is also a time for joy; if there is sickness, there is a also time for healing.

I stamped the scripture on a white cs, die-cut with Fleur de Lis Rectangle and while still on the die, I sponged it Memento Angel Pink using my large sponge dauber.  My dp is from Basic Grey Sultry which was matted onto a pink cs (too dark for this photo but it's a bit lighter IRL). The butterfly was cut from the same background dp with an additional stamped swirl from one of my stamp sets. I adhered a baby pink ribbon on the left bottom side, then finished it off with stacked of flowers and pearls for the butterfly.

Here's my card:

Thanks for looking and  see you again on my next post!

Hugs to all!  God bless!

Grace Through Faith

Happy Friday everyone! Here's what I came up last night while trying to clean-up my messy craft table. :).

I was organising my stamped images when I stumbled upon this image that I worked on with brayer and masking for almost a year now. Yup! This was done heaps of months ago and during that time, I was just practicing on how to use the brayer. The image used here was Upsy Daisy by Stampin' Up (stamped with Choc Chip). The green background is Old Olive -- and I like the rugged look it created. The blue background is, if I'm not mistaken, Ballet Blue. (sorry, I tell you it's been months).

Anyway, I just matted it onto a brown Coredinations cs and embossed a white cs using Cuttlebug Floral Screen folder. Finished it off with 2 chocolate pearls on top left and bottom right side. After finishing the card, I thought it's a bit bare on the stamped panel (just above the right side) so I decided to look for a stamp that will somehow fill that space. And then I saw this Grace Through Faith stamp by Clear Dollar Stamps which I haven't used since purchased. Since it's a clear stamp, I easily managed to stamp it to where I want it to be using Choc Chip ink by SU!.
ETA: Upon seeing that the this week's Ways to Use It Challenge is Silhouette -- I'm entering this one. Perfect timing! Yay!!

Sorry for the quality of the photo as I just took it using my mobile fone and blogging from there as well. Hey, I'm not saying that BlackBerry's camera isn't good, but using a "real" camera makes a difference. :-) I ♥ my BlackBerry -- it's so cool!

Thanks for looking and may you all have a blessed day!

God loves you!

ODBDSLC44 [WING IT], SSCC#72 [SOMETHING NEW]

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!  I want to apologize once again for not posting the past few weeks. It's school holiday for the kids that's why I'm taking the opportunity to bond with them.

Anyway, this card is for the ff challenges:

ODBDSLC44 - image, embellishment or dp must contain anything with wings and
SSCC#72 - anything new (in my case, my dp is one of my new supplies)

The bible verse was stamped with Choc Chip (loaded with Versamark) and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut it using Oval Nesties, and while still in the die, I then sponged around it using So Saffron and Choc Chip. The verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 1 and the silhouette butterfly is a stamp from Darkroom Door. I used the SU! marker (Rose Red) to directly colour the rubber stamp, huffed on it then stamp it directly to the dp (which is my something "new").  I also stamped another butterfly image to the same dp then handcut it and adhered just the middle part so the wings can move for added effect. :) I distressed the edges of the dp with Tim Holtz's Antique Linen distress ink. I also embellished one of the butterflies with 2 smallest pearls.

Thanks so much for the visit and I'll see you again on my next post.

Have a blessed day! Be safe.

ODBDSLC34 {Romans 8:28}

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you're all doing well and enjoying your day wherever you are. :)  Just want to present with you a card I made for ODBDSLC34 wherein the challenge is to use the colours Black, Kraft and one other colour.  This is also my 2nd entry for Joan's 4th and final week month-long blog candy in celebration of World Cardmaking Day! I haven't been playing with the ODBD challenges for months now but I just couldn't resist the colour combo this time. :)

I just want to make it simple as I'm aiming to focus on the Bible verse, which is from ODBD Scripture Collection 1, rather than the embellishments.  The Kraft is from my stash, where an oval was cut out for a previous project.  I was thinking of using it as a whole rather than cut a part of it and I liked how it turned out.  I chose the mustard-coloured cs to stamp my leaves on (from SU! Lovely As A Tree set) to make the image pop up.  Finished it off with black pearls at the bottom of the bible verse --- which is one of my favourite verses. :)

This is all for now and I'll see you on my next post.

God bless everyone!

PHILIPPIANS 4:8

Hi everyone!  I made this card for this week's CAS88 challenge over SCS and that is, inspiration by a word: CRINKLE!  The example given was leaves but of course you can think of other things that are crinkled or can be crinkled.  As for me, it's already late here in my place to think about it so I chose to use leaves. LOL!!

The verse that I used is truly inspiring, which I think would benefit us all if we'll just ponder about it.  This stamp is from Clear Dollar stamps and it's only now that I was able to ink it up due to my hibernation. LOL!  I did some shadowing using my Mega Curved rectangles. How?  Well, I held it using my left hand while the right hand was doing the sponging.  Yeah, I know it's a bit hard because the die has the tendency to slip and be out of place but, well, I think a shadow doesn't have to be that detailed, well IMO. :)  I then directly stamp my verse onto the card using Memento Rich Cocoa.  Now with the leaves, I just cut 2 different sizes of leaves from my Flower Creation die set (Spellbinders).  I then embossed it using my Fiskars "Leaves" texture plates to give the leaves some "ribs". :)  I lightly sponged around it and the embossed ribs for some aged effect.

Thanks for visiting and I would love to read your comments on this.

God bless us all.

X'S:
By the way, the card that I posted prior to this one
won the blog candy for week 1 of Joan's
WorldCardmaking Day month-long celebration! YAY!!

26 September 2010

Happy Sunday everyone! Wow! I'm so glad that finally, after almost a month of not creating any cards, I was able to make one today.  And not only that, I was able to enter this for this week's Free for All Challenge (F4A31) wherein you have to use "scallops".

Obviously, my scallops is the gray mat that I die-cut using my Petite Scalloped Circle (Nestabilities). Unusual colour combo, I know but these are the colours that entered my mind soon as I saw this lovely dp from Grace Taylor's Vintage Collection (bought from Big W).

This card is for our Pastor and his wife's 42nd Wedding Anniversary.  I gave them cards for 2 straight years now and I don't want to miss giving them another one this year.  I'm thankful because if it weren't for this occasion, I think my crafting stuffs will continue to gather dust. :(  I just hope the creative juice will start to flow on  a regular basis now.

The encouraging Bible scripture stamp was from Unity Stamps' Something Within set. I bought this more than a month ago, and I think I've only used 2 stamps from the set to date.  Talking about being slack.

Thanks to all my followers, for still being there despite of the fact that you don't get any notification of a recent post from me. THANKS HEAPS! And because of that, the first commenter (who is one of my followers) on this post will receive a small gift from me, a simple token to show my appreciation.

Thanks once again and may our good Lord bless us always.

Hugs,
Jhet
