WT261 {Something New} Romans 8:28

Good afternoon fellow bloggers! I'm happy to share with you today my card for this weeks Ways to Use it Challenge261 wherein you have to use some "new" supplies that you've got lately. It could be from new dsp, ink, flowers to new cutting machine, punches or embellishments! On my card the cream satin ribbon is the new stuff. I bought it from Lincraft some few weeks ago and it's very soft as compared to the other ribbons that I have used. Here's another angle shot:

The paper is also new as I just opened it yesterday and I just punched out some circles out of it for the previous card that I made. The sentiment from ODBD Scripture Collection was stamped with Choc Chip onto a white cs then cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight then sponged with Versacolor Vanilla ink. The sides were punched using Fiskars Threading Water punch and the ribbon was made using Bow Easy. I decided to hide the ribbon tails for a different effect. I finished off the card with 4 tiny Kaiser pearls (Champagne) and sprayed Glimmer Mist (pearl) onto the sentiment panel.
Thanks for looking and today is Friday which means Bible study day for us. :) Yay! I suddenly remember that we're currently on the book of Romans so my verse on this card is just so timely!
Enjoy the rest of the day! God bless you.

FTL81 Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone! As I was reading a comment from VERA on my previous card (thanks so much for the lovely comment VERA, I appreciate it!), I visited her blog and saw this Clean & Simple Stamping challenge blog. And soon as I saw the challenge for this week, I felt I'd like to play along.

So here's my simple take on the sketch. I don't have circle punches (am I the only one?). Well, I mean, I do have them but what I have are those bigger than a 1" circle and so I just opted to use my Circle Nesties for this (the second to the smallest). It's still bigger than 1" though. :) Well, the challenge is to use circles and there isn't a limit to its size (is there? LOL!). Stamp is from Hero Arts and dp is from DCWV Garden Party stack.

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day!

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

This card is my take for three challenges. Yes! 3 challenges! And they're the ff:
SCS TLC263 - to make Vintage themed card
SCS FS161 - I know I'm days late, this one's in honour of VERA the featured stamper last week
SSCC29 - Stampin' Sisters In Christ, to make a card that shows or expresses joy based on
Isaiah 12:6

Glad I was able to finish a card before the kids get home from school. :) I did my own sentiment using JustRite Stampers Classic Harmony Circle Ensemble III and while making the whole card, I was singing ♫ God is good all the time ♪ ♫...." which is my expression of joy because God is really, really good ALL THE TIME! Amen?! I just hope that this card is vintage enough for the TLC challenge :). When it comes to vintage papers, you can never go wrong with K&Company. Most of their dps have the touch of Vintage and they really look gorgeous.

I stamped my sentiment with Versacolor Old Rose, cut with circle Nesties and matted onto Scalloped Circle Nesties. I did some distressing around the dp and around the circle as well. You may notice some snips on the ribbon, well I did it on purpose to add an aged look/effect.

Okay, time for a very late lunch. Thanks for the visit and don't forget to leave a comment or two.

God bless us all!

CAS57 Congratulations

Good morning everyone! Here's my simple take for the CAS57 challenge this week. The theme is "A Different Shape-abilities" wherein you'll use different shape die cut on top of another die cut shape (am I making sense? LOL!) I guess you get the picture upon seeing my card. :) This is an engagement card requested by a churchmate for her friend.

The image is from Kaisercraft, stamped with Versafine Crimson Red and heat-embossed with clear ep. I also did the same thing for the sentiment which is from Stampendous. (I used my Stamp a Majig on this one). It really comes handy especially when you want to stamp near the edge of the card directly. ;-) The lovey dp is from K&Company Classic K Charlotte. My pearl is also from K&Company which I bought from OZTION and arrived yesterday.

Thanks for looking and have a lovely day!

God bless.

TWO CARDS

Hello fellow bloggers and stampers! I still feel a bit weak and dizzy but I was able to play along with the sketch challenge for this week over SCS. But yesterday, I had the chance to participate (my first-ever with them) on Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #28 and theme is taken from Colossians 3:17 - "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." This challenge is actually free reign, meaning, there are no set limits and the only and most important condition is to make a card out of worship to God, our Creator. So, I had Jesus on my mind when I made this card, thanking Him for everything that He's done in my life and for giving me such creativity and talent to make cards. Image is from my newly-acquired Circle Ensemble III from Justrite Stampers.

The next card is for SC270 challenge set by Rox. Thanks for the wonderful sketch Rox! I just made my card simple as I still feel a bit dizzy. Thank God I managed to finish this one.

Thanks for the visit and may our good Lord bless you always.
Hugs,
Jhet

{CAS56} IT'S HIP TO BE SQUARE!

Happy month of March everyone!!! Wow, days really pass by so fast and before we know it, we're already half year through. So let's thank God for every moment that He's blessed us and let's make the most out of those moments.

Well, I was finally able to sit and stamp this afternoon as soon as I saw the CAS56 challenge which is "Hip to be Square!". As you all know me, I'm really into making square cards so it didn't make me think twice to play in this challenge.

I stamped my image from Magnolia Summer Collection with Memento Tuxedo Black then coloured it with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I then matted it onto an Old Olive cs which was cut with Scalloped Square Nesties. I stamped the Darkroom Door sentiment with Old Olive ink then finished the card with an olive-coloured satin ribbon (bought from dollar store) with a button combo (a very first for me!). Oh, I made my bow using Bow Easy and once again, I had to review the youtube tutorial as I've totally forgotten how to make one. LOL!!!

Thanks for visiting! Have a blessed day!!

FS158 CASEd Card

Happy Monday fellow bloggers, stampers and crafters!! How are you all doing today? Did you have a blast this Valentine's Day?? :)

Today I want to share with you my first Featured Stamper card for 2010. This week's FS158 challenge is in honour of Laurie a.k.a. Hamiltongal from SCS. Yay! for you Laurie~~her gallery is indeed a source of inspiration and her cards are all gorgeous!!

Ok, on to the card. I chose to case this card and changed the ff:
- colours
- twist the sketch a bit
- used Labels 1 instead of the circle nesties but retained the topmost layer using circle nesties
- stamped my sentiment and made it as my focal image, embossed it with Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls
- used a fifferent dp but from DCWV as well
- changed the position of the pearls
- used a different border punch
- and spritzed a bit of Glimmer Mist on my sentiment for the finishing touch!

Would you believe that I had to review the video tutorial for the Bow Easy before I was able to finally made this bow on my card? LOL!!! Just imagine the effect of a month-long holiday from cardmaking! I guess I have to review my stuffs so I won't get lost again next time. :)

Thanks for looking and I will appreciate any comment/s that you will leave here.

GOD bless us all!
