MAGNOLIA DOWN UNDER CHALLENGE#39 {Stitching Real or Fake}

It's Holy Thursday and this morning, the topic on my daily Bible Devotional is about building our relationship with our Creator while we are still alive. Because according to Psalm 39:11, "Everyone's life is only a breath." That's why while we are still alive, we must always remember to give thanks and praise to God for everything that He's doing to us. Whatever situation we are in at any point, we must praise God for He alone knows what's best for us. Build up and deepen our relationship with Him by accepting and receiving His son Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour so we can spend eternal life with Him knowing we are saved. God made the ultimate sacrifice when He offered His only son to die on the cross just for us to be saved. And that's the very essence of this Easter -- for us to rejoice that Jesus has conquered the grave; that He rose from the dead and we too, will experience that if we are in Him and remain in Him. :) I hope you'll set aside even a short period of time to contemplate this Holy Week and to read your Bible everyday to strengthen your faith.

Okay, my card here is my take for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge #39 --to use stitching either real or fake. In my case, I did a faux stitching as I don't have a sewing machine & I don't know how to sew using that. LOL! I was about to colour this RAK image with my Prismacolor pencil but I found out that my Dark Purple pencil was missing. :( I've checked my colour chart to know that I have it eversince, and yes it was but the pencil itself was missing. So, I decided to use my Sugarloaf Markers which were "untouched" for a very long time. Actually, I coloured it with the combination of Sugarloaf markers, Copics and Bic Mark It. :) The sentiment is from a craft show months ago which was stamped onto white cs, cut with Labels 8 (the smallest size) and sponged around it using So Saffron while still inside the die.

The dp is one of the very first dp's that I acquired when I was just starting. I think this one's by Dena Designs. I made the felt flower (the pink ones) using my Flower Creations Shapeabilities and combined it the flowers I have on my stash.

This is all for now. Thanks for visit and God bless us all!

Hugs,

Jhet

BIRTHDAY CARD

Happy APRIL!! Wow! Time really flies so fast, I can't believe APRIL is already here! And my boys have started their self-proclaimed holiday today. LOL! Well, officially, their holiday starts tomorrow but they're having theirs today. :)

I have a birthday card to share with you today. This image is another RAK image and a first-time for me to colour in. I believe this cute girl is from Sugar Nellie's Gorjuss Girls. I coloured her with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. And on this card too, I did the "tile technique" which is so much fun to do! I thought it was kinda hard but it was actually easy as a pie. I took a closer shot so you can see the shine on the tile:

The lovely dp is from Basic Grey Lilykate pad. The leaves were created using my single fern punch. What I did was to punch heaps of them and glued them altogether onto a piece of cardstock so it will appear that they're just coming from one branch. That's how I improvise for now but my fern punch that I ordered from BEC will be here anytime soon! YAY! Can't wait! The sentiment is from Jemac stamp which I bought for $1 during a craft show.

This card is actually for my niece who will be celebrating her 18th this Sat. I've just posted it and I know it will arrive late considering it's Holy Week and they're overseas! Well, better late than never. :)

Thanks for the visit! Till next post. God bless us all.

REJOICE!

Yes! Let us rejoice for Jesus has conquered the grave!!! Isn't this the main reason why we celebrate Easter?

Hello everyone! I hope you are well upon reading this post. I've just finished a very simple card which is my entry for the following challenges:

- SSCC32 (taken from Isaiah 40:31; to mount up part/s of your image, or do paper tole technique)

- ODBDSLC7 (Easter challenge)

The cross is part of the Spiritual Sketches set by Inkadinkado which I just received yesterday. Got a bit of a bargain there over EBAY! :) The sentiment is from ODBD's Worship the Lord set. It's actually a Christmas stamp set but I think we can always use the word "rejoice" when we acknowledge God's love and goodness, and to express joy when we know that Christ died and rose again to save us from our sins and to give us everlasting life, am I right?

The parts that I mounted with pop dots are the two big lilies (correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is a lily :) ). Here's a closer look:

I coloured my image with Copic markers and Bic Mark-It! The background was embossed with Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and spritzed with Glimmer Mist Pearl. Finished it off with 4 Kaiserpearls on the four corners.

That's it for now. Thanks so much for the visit and may our good Lord bless and keep you always.

Hugs to all,

Jhet

SIMON SAYS EASTER OR SPRING and some GLIMMER!

Happy Monday blogging world!!! Let's all thank God for another week and let's pray that He'll help us spend this week wisely and to direct us in using our talents for His glory!

My card for today is my very first Easter card for this year. LOL!! Yeah, I'm late I know. I mean, I have an excuse 'coz I don't have any Easter themed stamp except from few RAK stamped images that I received from my online friends last year.

The gorgeous Tilda Holding Bunny image was coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I coloured her yesterday morning and the colours were inspired by a dp from Basic Grey. As I was in the prcoess of putting the card together, I suddenly felt like sponging. Hence, the sponged background of sky and ground. :) I hope you can see the sky here very well as it's a combo of blues and pinks. And when I saw the challenge over Simon Says Blog, that is to have glimmer, shimmer or sparkle, I then opened my new Martha Stewart Golden Glitter and started pouring some on Tilda's dress. Here's a close-up:

In this photo, you can now clearly see my blue and pink sky! How do you like it? :) As I've said awhile ago, I don't have any Easter themed stamp which also means I don't have any sentiment that says "Happy Easter". So, I improvised on this one. I have this Technique Tuesday mini stamp (yes, it's Easter themed but it only has an egg, small flowers and the words Easter & Eggs). What I did, I looked on my stamps binder and searched for a word "happy" that will complement the the "Easter" word from TT. I tried and experimented and then BAM! Got the right combo! If you could only see the look on my face when I was mounting my sentiment up. So, so happy! :) I also did a faux bow on this card which also first for me.

Thanks so much for looking and please let me know that you've been here by leaving a comment or two. I appreciate it, really!

Have a blessed day!

MY FIRST EASEL CARD

Happy Friday everyone! I've started making this card 2 days ago but then I got sidetracked with other stuffs that's why I've finished it just now. Actually, this is my "first ever" easel card! Yay for me!! It's also a first for me to use punched leaves on a card. Well, it's because I don't have any leaf punch, LOL!! But this lovely leaves were given to me by my online buddy Bec months ago. This is also my take for WT263 challenge over SCS and this one is actually a birthday card. I really left a space inside the card for the personalized message of the giver, which is ME! :)

Here's a close-up shot of the front:

I used Kaiser pearls (Blush) as stopper for my easel card. The papers were from K&Company and Kaisercraft. My Magnolia image is a RAK I received from a friend online.
So, what do you think? :)
Thanks for looking, it's already late and I need to sleep because we have a family day out tomorrow. Can't wait!!
God bless!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #38

HELLO! It's me once again. This is my second post for today so just please scroll down to read the earlier post.

This card is for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge#38 and it's a sketch challenge for this week.

Here's my card:

Honestly, I haven't been creating cards with Tilda on it for the past few months. Which only means that I haven't been using my Copics and Prismacolour pencils for awhile now! So just imagine how hard it was for me to colour her, knowing that I wasn't sure at first if I still know how to use or hold a marker, moreso, a COPIC!!! LOL!!! My hand was trembling, actually. I felt the same feeling when I was just starting with Copics. :)

Anyway, I somehow "survived"! I just hope I was able to justify my colouring with Tilda. I coloured her mostly with Copics but with her hair, it was a combo of Copics then Prismacolor pencil (to achieve shading).

Can you please tell me from what Magnolia collection this Tilda was from? This is just actually a RAK image from an online buddy (sorry, I forgot her name! my bad!). The farm fence that Tilda is sitting on was from High Hopes which I bought from Bec some weeks ago. I did some tweaking on this fence to adjust the height. LOL! I experimented on matting the Labels One with my Scalloped Square Nesties (the largest die) and I liked how it turned out. I did some paper piercing on the sides and a faux stitching with a faux thread using a glitter gel pen. :) Flowers were made using Martha Stewart Cosmos punch and embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots to add effect and was popped-dot for dimension.Sentiment is from AmyR stamps by CC Designs and the tiny bow on top of it is a Carl punch. The lovely dps are from K&Company Charlotte pad (my favourite!). The cardstocks are from SU! Summer Sun and Coredinations cs.

A closer look at the flowers...

Thanks so much and it's time for me to hit the bed now. God bless everyone!

Clean and Simple Card

Happy Tuesday everyone! Wow! It's been almost a week since I last posted here. Hope all is well with you. Life can get so busy at times and I just had that the past few days. I've been trying to do some de-cluttering at home and it seems endless! LOL!!

Anyway, this card is for the SSCC31 challenge and that is to create a clean and simple card. The challenge is based on the Bible verse taken from Psalm 51:7-10 :
"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness, let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

I have this stamp from Stampabilities since last year but it's only now that it got inked up. I wanted a Vintage clean and simple card, hence I didn't do any colouring and I chose these browny tones. The image was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia, cut with Labels One and so were the mats. The dp is from K&Company Charlotte pad and the brown cs was embossed using Cuttlebug Script folder. Finished it off with a lovely flower that I got from Bec months ago and a vintage-coloured button.

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day!
