HAPPY BIRTHDAY card (with some hand-stitching)

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I last posted here. Life was a bit busy but then this afternoon I was able to make a card. :)

The image is a RAK from the sweet & kind Janette. Thanks Janette! I finally used this gorgeous image from you. I actually coloured this more than a month ago, did some sky area on this then set it aside as I was still trying to figure out what sort of paper/s or cs I will use with this. And when I pulled it out today somewhere in my stash (along with other stamped images), I found out that the sky area that I made was ink-stained. Just so not to waste this cute image, I decided to cut it to get rid of the stain but ended up losing the sky area. :(

Anyways, I believe this turned out well somehow.

What do you think? Originally, the edges were faux-stitched but I ended up hand-stitching it upon stitching the button onto the flower. I don't know how to use the sewing machine and I don't even have that thing, so sometimes I settle for faux stitching (which I really seldom do). But why not hand-stitched, anyway? It also gives a different look on the project.

This second photo was taken with flash on. I wanted my viewers to see the sparkly red flower and sparkly flower on the girl's hat. I went over those flowers with Copic Spica glitter pen in Clear and Red. Btw, the lovely dp is from Basic Grey Two Scoops paper pad. It really is so lovely! My sentiment was from Hero Arts Cupcake set.

So....what do you think? ;) Did it turn out okay? Oh, the photo for my blog candy is already up. Check out this post to see it.

Thanks for looking and have a blessed Friday!

More Cards Received

I've been receiving more cards lately and I just thought of sharing them with you. The first one was from Peggy which I received along with her Peggy's Pretties that I won on her blog candy. Thanks once again, Peggy!

These 2 cards were from Chrissie. Thanks so much, you really surprised me with this. I got this yesterday. :) These cards were fresh from UK ;)

And the last one is from Sammi. Thanks so much Sam! She also sent me some Tilda images and PIF stuffs. Sammi is an online buddy whom I met over SCS. She's also from Australia, also a Christian and we're actually suburb neighbours. :) We haven't met personally yet but I know it will be soon. ;)

Thanks so much ladies. Your cards brought a smile to my face and a joy in my heart. I feel so blessed to know you. May God bless you more.

CUPCAKES!!

I hope you're not getting tired seeing cupcakes cards from me. Who doesn't like cupcakes anyway? ;)

This gorgeous cupcakes on a tier image was a RAK from my SBS 22 sister Sarah. I think she gave this to me almost a month ago. I actually coloured them since I got hold of them but it's only now that I was able to put them onto a card. I made two cards using the same image only that I coloured them differently.

You can tell that this one was coloured with Copic Markers. I also used my Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder for the first time. This folder was a just-because gift from an online friend. I used a Bazzill cardstock (for the embossed card) and DCWV matchmaker for the mat.

And this one was coloured with watercolour pencils using my blender pen. Cardstocks used were Bazzill & SU! Whisper White. I also embellished it with rhinestones and sentiment was computer-generated.
Thanks for looking and there will be more cupcakes to come. LOL!
Have a blessed day!

Got a parcel from...

KATHY!!!

OMGosh! I was really surprised when I received it yesterday. I mean, I didn't have any idea that she will be sending me heaps of stuffs. There are lots and lots of stamped images ranging from House Mouse and the "Fall Theme" images. Not only that, she also sent me heaps of patterned paper, die cuts from Nesties and ribbons!!! Wow! Thanks Kathy! As I've said, you put a smile on my face -- I just don't know if you remembered that my birthday is on Oct 13 and my anniversary is on the 14th -- but well, thanks really. It turned to be a surprise birthday parcel!! I like everything on it. :)
Btw, what is a Secret Sister Swap? Does everybody has "Secret Sister" on SBS 22?? Wonder how it works...if I will disguise myself and send someone my stuffs, she would easily know who I am as I'm the only one from Australia. Anyone can tell me about this secret sister thing?? :)
Ok guys, I'll be seeing my GP this afternoon for a check-up regarding my lightheadedness, please pray that everything will be okay. Thanks!
Have a blessed day everyone!

Birthday Bella!

Here's a card that I've been working on for the past few days. Finishing this on time was a bit hard 'coz as I've said I wasn't feeling a bit well lately. Good thing, I was able to finish it today. This is just another simple card made for a young lady who will be turning 18 this Sunday. I want a pink and brown theme but ran out of Choc Chip cs so I just made it turn out that only the left side was being matted (clever idea lol!). I coloured this Ballonabella of Stamping Bella (RAK image fr my SBS 22 sister Sarah) with my Sugarloaf markers and Copic. Sentiment was computer-generated.

Thanks for this Bella, Sarah. Wish to receive more of her. :)

So, what do you think?

More THANK YOU Cards and RILEY!

What a nice day!! Jared (my DS1) is on his school holiday starting today for 2weeks (Spring Break) so that would mean there will be no rushing in the mornings (at least for 2 weeks) and more time for me to organise our small home and more time to make cards. =) Yay!

I was able to make 3 cards for today (and still be making more after dinner lol!). I've just started to make Thank You cards and these are primarily for our church. These cards will be given everytime there is an invited preacher or speaker. I haven't told anyone in the church about this (just my darling hubby), I just felt that I need to make cards and hand them off to our Pastor's wife once I finish them all. We normally have guest preachers/speakers once a month so I guess, 10 cards will do atm. Here are my first two finished Thank You cards:

These are actually easy cards. They are simple yet they somehow look elegant. I just noticed that I haven't been using my Cuttlebug embossing folders (and I have about 14 of them!) so, I decided to use them this time.

There was no stamping done in any of these two cards. The sentiments were all computer-generated and I guess, I'll be making more sentiments using my computer. Much easier and more personalised. On this card I used my Bloom Dots folder and my Standard Circle and Petite Scallop Circle nestabilities.

While on this one, I used my Paisley embossing folder (one of my favs) and just cut out a sentiment to go along with it. The base cardstock colour somehow looked like blue but IRL it's actually dark eggplant-coloured. (and the grosgrain ribbon as well) I used the same materials on both cards which are mostly from my stash.

And this one is RILEY which is another RAK image I received from Peggy. (thanks again Peggy, hope you're doing well, you haven't been posting lately). I just found out that I have this lilac-coloured cardstock already ran through the Cuttlebug, so I decided to use it for this image. This is the first time I coloured a Riley for a simple reason that I don't even have a single Riley on my collection lol! Funny! I hope I entertained you with my new creations. Will be posting more later.

See yah!

NEWS, New Stuffs and a Card

Hello everybody!!! How are y'all doing? I've been off the blogging world for a day and it's really been a quite busy weekend for me. Anyways, I have a good news for you, I recently joined a card competition on one of the online shops where I buy my stuffs. Actually, it just so happened that I bought something from there during the competition period and that's why I was able to get an entry (entries actually). The winners were drawn and one of my entries were picked and landed 2nd place! (yay for me!). My card entry that won was previously posted here before and you can see it on Bizzy Becs as all the winners entries are posted there for 4 weeks. (ETA: I'll post the prizes once I receive them...anytime this week! So excited!)

And for the new stuffs once again...I got these last Thursday and I still haven't got the chance to play with them. I got SU! cardstocks and their mat pack (paper piercing). I also got Imaginisce stamps, cupcake buttons and theImaginisce gorgeous papers that you see on your screen.

And finally, after 2 long days, I was able to come up with a card (which I just finished a few minutes ago). This lovely image (Elzybells) was a RAK from Peggy, my SBS 22 sister (thanks so much Peggy!). I used my leftover Chatterbox patterned paper and my DCWV matchmaker cardstocks. I coloured the image with watercolour pencils using my blender pen and printed a sentiment to complement the image.

That's all for today folks! I'm not really feeling well since yesterday so I guess I really need to go to sleep now. Please include me in your prayers. :-)

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

hugs,
jhet

Holly Hobby Cards and Surprises from SBS 22 Sisters

These are the 2 cards that I was able to finish today. Actually, they've been pre-coloured for a couple of days now. The first card is for a friend who for whatever reason, wasn't able to receive the birthday card I made for her last June. I posted it but then it didn't arrive on her place. So, I promised her that I'll be sending her another one and this is it. You know the original text of "If friends were tomatoes..., they're supposed to be "If friends are flowers... but since Holly is holding a tomato and being surrounded by tomatoes, I decided to change it to "tomatoes". lol! Makes sense? ;-)

If you would notice, the Yoyo Yellow (where I matted the sentiments) has this fiber thing on sides. Well, this usually happens when I cut using my fiskars trimmer (maybe my blades need replacment now). I normally correct them by filing it but this time, I liked the look of it and just left it that way. I then matted it in Choc Chip and intentionally make the Yoyo Yellow longer than the Choc Chip (for added effect) which I think looked nice somehow. (What do you think?) All colours were picked up from the image (grosgrain ribbon picked up the tomatoes') execept for colour pink.

The second card is another Holly Hobby. I also coloured this a week ago now, and I also intentionally coloured one flower burgundy. I didn't have anything on my mind when I chose the colour burgundy. In fact, I was a bit surprised because as far as I can remember, I don't have a single cardstock having this colour. But then, as I digged deeper onto my stash (lol! digged deeper), I found these burgundy cardstocks with some other patterned paper with the same colour. So, I hurriedly grabbed one cardstock and used it here. The patterned paper which I just bought yesterday is from DCWV Far East stack...they complemented nicely, don't they? Then I used my Crayola fluroscent gel pen to put the dots around the card. The green cardstock is also from DCWV (Matchmaker collection) which I also recently bought.

And before I forget, I got surprises on the mail today! Yes!! I would like to thank Sarah for the lovely card she sent me along with stamped images. Thanks also to Peggy who sent me different images of Riley and Elzybells. Thanks heaps to both of you!!! I just received them today.

These are from Sarah..

and these are from Peggy..

Thanks once again ladies! I appreciate them, really.

Good night everyone and thanks for looking! God bless!

Square Nesties

Good Day! I finally had the chance to use my Square Nestabilities. I was such in a hurry while making this card because I have to give this to my sister in faith later this evening during our Bible study. I grabbed the opportunity to make this card while the kids are in school and I'm uninterrupted .I will actually give her a Bible as a gift and I decided to make a card to go along with it. This is just a very simple card..and actually, it is small. ;-)

The Square nesties are cute! I used my ClearlyChristian stamp (which I seldom use, I guess I'd better use them more often) by CD Stamps coloured with Copic Markers. Cardstocks are all SU! (Whisper White & Garden Green), I Cuttlebugged the bottom part and put a dotted red & white grosgrain ribbon for added attraction. (it actually went well with the Swiss dots) I also used Copic Spica on the apple. :)

Off to the kitchen to grab some late lunch and will pick-up DS1 in school at 3pm.

See y'all later! :-)
